My bud shocked me
Ok, just received a phone call from my friend and I think there is a need to share the story with you guys.
The story is like that, my friend currently is driving a 2012 650 coupe and he brought his vehicle for service today. After check dealer's showroom inventory and test drove a x6m for fun (waiting time is too boring), he made up his mind to trade the 650 in for a 2014 x6m. Man, how can this kind of thing happen? I totally can not understand him, so I just asked are you drunk? however, the truth is he really made his mind. Can anybody tell me how could this happen? 650 for x6m?

I can see that happening. I was torn between a 650GC and X6M earlier this year, but I ultimately went with the 650 to try something different.
I actually plan to go back to the X6 in a few years because I guess I just got used to and now prefer the ride height and durability of an SUV type car after having driving them since 2005. The 650 is an awesome machine and a blast to drive, but my first rew months with it were not pleasant because I was driving it with those damn shipping blocks in the springs so I was definitely missing the X6 I traded for it until finding out about the shipping blocks and having them removed. Now, the 650 is running beautifully, but ultimately, according to the BMW specs, the 650i and X6M have the same 0-60 times so if you're looking for power under the right foot, ypu can't go wrong either way. If luxury is your passion, the 650 beats out the X6M but if aggressive and rugged is what you're looking for... X6M FTW. Great choices either way... to bad not all of us csn afford to have our cake and eat it too... now I'm just being greedy, lol Honestly, I am really enjoying the GC at the moment, but if I could do it over again, I would have chosen the X6M over the 650 as well.

Love it soooo much. The only reason I get 650 gc instead of the x6m is the x6m interior just looks like kind of aged. After all, it is an E generation product. 650gc belongs to f generation.

Steve it is not a m5 it is a x6m. F generation is far more advantaged than E's. You mean I should also do the trade? 650 gc for a x6m right now?

that's what I meant ... your buddy saw the "M" in the X6, naturally, it's means it's GO TIME.
As for you, Absolutely no trade unless your significant other says "Okay". I thought you know this already, besides you have lots of upcoming expenses for next year. Sorry. did not mean to remind you |

I restarted engine at that time, and the warning went away. If it gonna happen again, I think I should think the trade seriously. As for the lots of expenses in the coming year, I think if I really should do the trade, the x6m gonna be the way to go, because I do not need to put down any extra money. drive it in and pick up a new one.

Hmm, but you just came from the X6 over the GC. To me, if I were in your shoes, I would not make this jump to the X6M. The car is under warranty and let the dealer see what the cause of the malfunction error. Sometimes, it's a simple electronic glitch as these European cars are famous for. Although it has never happened to my M5 and 550, it did happen on 535 for a few times but with the known HPFP problem.
I say give it some time and if this error keeps on happening more and more often, then you can rethink the situation again. Just my 2 cents. [QUOTE=wzj519;14786850] Quote:

Definitely I will observe it for a while and then think about it. I love it. Hopefully, everything will be ok and I do hope it was just a software glitch. It seems like it was, because some folks on the forum with problems of the hardware of the engines are usually suffered the malfunction continually. However, mine just happened one time only, and it still runs perfect. BTW, do you think the x6m with a m badge is really a better vehicle than 650gc?

people buy the GC goes for the styling (coupe like) and the power as secondary importance (which the 450hp & 445lbft to add to the punch). As opposed to the X6M, people buy that for the power, utility and then the look, IMO.
Besides, if those cars are not taken to the track at all, no matter what power you have, you cannot really use them on the streets anyway. Same sentiment for my M. All those power and have no place to use ... well, I will try next spring/summer at the track. Therefore, the 'M' badge really have no bearings of the importance of being better. I can say your GC is light years better than my M, in terms of comfort. |

BTW, 650 gc outputs 450hp and 480tq just correct your above statement. However, I do want a m car. because I went to airport too many times and everytime I am there I see the BMW ads, M, the most powerful word in the world.
