For someone who doesn't know about rebuilt titles, what's a good resource to understand how to fully license/title and insure a vehicle like this?

You can license them in any state , When you purchase a salvage car from an auction ,you are giving a salvage revive tittle(bill of sale),meaning that tittle will be replaced by the state you register the car in for A STATE salvage TITTLE . but before that,if it hasnt already been done.you have to take the car to the DMV/HIGHWAY PATROL to verify the car is road worth(parts were fixed). Insurance works the same like any other cars.the hard part of this is that most insurance companies will not FULLY INSURE salvage cars.so liability might be your only option.some companies do offer FULL COVERAGE but it is not cheap .

Really appreciate that info. Makes sense.

So what I gather is registering a car with salvage/ rebuilt title isn't difficult in any state, but insurance is the biggest concern?

Some of these cars have really minor damage but seem to get salvage title because parts are so expensive or they're so new.

Don't mean to hijack this thread.

What is the VIN? I can usually find out what happened to the car. PM me if you wish and I can let you know.
