M6 Brakes/Rotors on 650?

Guys

I'm thinking of getting the 650 LCI in a couple of months. Does anyone know if the M6 brakes and rotors can be retrofitted to the 650?

I'm no expert but I think they could be retrofitted.. The only issue i can think of that you may run into would be wheel offset clearance, then you could just run a set of spacers

Just get an M6. If you lease the payments will be only a few hundred dollars difference.

^^^ This.
You need to spend 5-6K just for brakes if you don't want to change the wheels. After all your car is considered modified and for sure the brake warranty will be voided. In top of that you are doing a favor to dealers to deny any repair/service related to brakes (ie bearing , alignment, etc) under warranty. Also, M6 has high performance brakes and one of the major issue with this type of brakes is the crack close to holes on rotors that will be appeared at 15k+ miles. In a 36 months lease you need at least one time brake replacement (rotors+pads). So basically you are paying a total of almost 9-10K for this modification which is about 250-300 per months on top of your regular payment for 650i! You can get an M6 with this money!

I think you guys are a little bit off with the M6 payment compared to the 650.. For example i took a fully loaded M-sport White on red 650 for $1k a month with nothing out of pocket, not 1 dime.. For the M6 at the same time I was negotiating that deal, they wanted $10k down and $1500 a month, so $500 more and $10k out of pocket, that was the best they were willing to do. If it was only $5k down and $1300 a month I would have considered it, but they would not budge at all on them.

There's a post about my reasons for not choosing the M6 over the 650. One of them it's of course money. If I go with the M6 GC I would load it with almost every option available. I'm very big on features, but not big enough for almost $150k MSRP on the M6. My other reason is AWD. I need it, however, If I had M6 money I would just buy an AWD hooptie. The 650 GC loaded came to around $110k MSRP, that's almost $40k in difference. Again, If I had the money for a loaded M6, i would def go for it

You are right if you want to lease a new arrived car, but usually M6 sits in dealer's lot for long time and then you can negotiate! I got 20k off MSRP so basically I got a 120K car for 100K and then the lease payment of this car is a lot less than a 100K car that you get the MSRP... For instance my payment on M6 is less than my payment of previous 650i with 95k MSRP!!!

Guys check out R1 Concept rotors. You can get a set of upgraded ones for your 650i on all 4 quarters for less than $1k installed by your shop and have both the look of BBK and better performance without the cost of $5-7k that Bembro would cost you. Unless you need the performance of a BBK and are going to track the car (not a 650i's true forte or an M6) then IMHO other options such as R1 Concepts exist. Ping LACSTER on the forums...he can direct you towards them. That's the path I chose. Looks great so far.

I am sure it can be done as a few 550 owners have put M5 brakes on but this is far from a bolt on exercise. The M5/M6 suspension is very different from the series cars and includes integrated caliper mounts. LTBMW made a bracket for series cars to retrofit.

I'd rather go Brembo. Should cost about the same and then at least you're not posing.
