464M coating is flaking off

So I've had my car and these wheels for 6 months or so now. 2 months ago I noticed some bubbling on the wheel edges - all 4 now have the same issue. BMW is going to replace all 4 but it'll take a while to get new ones in.

So from today I put on a set of Rays I had - Honmura 2x7 20 inch.

Anyone else had issues with the 464M?

I also have 464M but haven't noticed this issue (yet). Were you told what the issue was? Any issues getting BMW to replace them?

The dealer has/had no idea why - I am the only one that has ever gotten these from them. They sent off the claim to BMW Japan and a week later they agreed to replace them all.

I recon it could be one of two things - bad lot or when the dealer applied the Innovection coating on them there was a reaction with the clear coat.

Probably will never know the real reason.

Anywho, we've agreed not to coat the new pair once they finally arrive - will take about 6 weeks....

I just got info about your problem..did you ever wash your car/wheels just after you heavy braking?

Maybe your wheels were hot,and you put cold water to wash them..that might be reason why got bubbling.

I don't think that would be the reason - never did either of the above.

The problem is also on the very edge of all 4 rims - since no one else seems to have had this issues it must of been a bad lot.

Thanks for the feedback.
