2016 640D - Replacing shocks and springs @60k - bushings too?
I'm replacing the shocks and springs on my 2016 640D Coupe (currently at 60k miles) with Bilstein/Eibach OE equivalents. Replacing the bump stops and dust covers too.
Can anyone advise if it is recommended to replace any of the suspension bushings at the same time and if so which ones? For preventative maintenance more than anything. Thanks, Allister. |

Its a bit of a rabbit hole I suppose ... some might say do one, do them all.
I'd say have a good look at them whilst you're doing the spring work and take it from there. From what I can see, to do the shocks and springs, your not really having to take apart anything else of the suspension arms ... so its not like you'll be having the parts removed to replace the springs ( where you could easy then fit new parts cause its already off). Out of curiosity, where are you getting the springs / shocks from ? Mine has just failed an MOT for cracked rear spring, so now looking around for the parts. |

Hi,
I was wondering your old shocks are blown? I'd be interested in buying them if they are adaptive and still working. Please let me know if you're interested in selling them. Cheers |
