I ended up with this fault and it was down to a problem within the steering wheel.
The clock wheel spring within the steering wheel had become defective and I had a clicking noise when turning the steering wheel more that a quarter of a turn. Even though the car was out of manufactures warranty and my 3rd party warranty didn't cover airbag issues, my local BMW dealership were excellent and managed to get BMW to replace the part + labour as a goodwill gesture. In fairness the car was only 6 months past manufacturers warranty and only had 14k miles on at the time. I think I paid about £46 ($65) as a diagnostic fee. If moving your seat causes the problem then I guess this is related to seat belt tensioners rather than an airbag issue. Hope you get it sorted. |

Well its still under warranty s that's not an issue. I am sure its the seat because moving the seat caused the failure. Perhaps a wire is chaffed and moving seat causes it to short, which would explain a blown fuse.

I suspect that is the issue....guess I won't see my car for a week then (just to change the fuse took 3 days)
