so.. the 4 series? The wheelbase on the 4er is 2in shorter than that of the 6er. how much smaller do you really think bmw will make a 6er when the 4er is already that.

maybe they are just going to rebadge the 4er as a 6er and move to a softtop vert for it.

Looking at the EPC it does show *most* US market ending 02/17, where as Europe was still showing 04/17 ones...

Either way we all *know* the 6 is going.Speaking with some of the team at my dealer they are all a little down as they still *love* the 6 and can understand it going in a sense. What they cannot quite fathom is the 5GT becoming the 6GT.

Does this mean for 6GC owners we are forced down the route of either a G30 5, 6GT (weird I know), or 7 series. None of which are really a true *direct* replacement for the 6GC.

As for breaking figures down my sales guy admitted whilst 6 are slower sellers generally, when a 6 is sold it tends to either be a GC or vert.

It's still on the UK configurator.

I have mixed feelings about my 640d. I think it looks amazing and the interior is very special. However it doesn't drive particularly well the the rear space is appalling.

Looking forward to my 440i arriving in July, but I will be a little sad to see the 6er go forever.

6er is being upped into an 8er and the next gen 6er will be smaller, lighter in order to compete with the 911 and AMG GT. I dont know why everybody is saying goodbye even though its not discontinued but rather has stopped production for current gen

Sources suggest that the G16 8 Series GC is still a planned product. Timeline is unclear but probably 2020 or later. Stayed tuned to Bimmerpost for possible dates and other details.

Poor in the sense of what though? Many people have said quite often that the 6 in coupe form uses the rear seats badly in comparison with the 4 which appears to use the space better than the 6 coupe. I think the problem with the coupe I think BMW wanted to maximise boot space and front space whilst still having some semi sensible rear seats.

As for not driving well it does depend on the road surface, 20" low profiles was never going to help either way (and I think *driving well* or riding well is solely dependent on what you have driven previously). Having had experience of the 'vert 640d I did find the space tighter than the GC and equally it did fidget more (I really think the GC with the slightly longer base helps it ride better even without VDC or Adaptive Drive).

Having stepped from a few days driving my MX5 to work (lowered even firmer ride than the 6 and shorter wheelbase), made my GC feel like a sofa tank.

Interesting to see if becomes a real thing. Problem is for the UK folks the 6 and 7 are really pushing size limits for some UK roads and apparently the 8 is even bigger!

The 6 actually has about the same amount of room as the 2, while the 4 coupe has a good 2" extra leg room making it much more usable. In saying that, I can have my 5'5" girlfriend sit behind me in my driving position (I'm about 5'9-10") just fine. If you've got one person over 6' though you really do only have a 3 seater car unless the 4th person is a 2 year old or has no legs.....

Good to hear it is still available in the UK, I need to get one from the UK soon and I after a dealer demo or similar with less than 5,000 miles on it. Cost is about NZ$110k versus NZ$300k buying one here new, no wonder BMW NZ only sold 3!

F12/13/06 was definitely an improved visual design over the E63 with the latter's odd butt and front facisa being hideous the way it all came together.

I am still on the hunt for my F06 M6!

I don't think the M3 was ever removed from the US site though. As of today, all F13s (M and non-M) have been removed. According to "the usual source" this was a year earlier than planned (if in fact there won't be a MY18 model).

True - the M3 is still there today and had not been absent at all since its production stoppage at the end of February. I think that the 6 Series Coupe was still there at first (only the M6 Coupe was removed), but as you say, it too is now gone. And indeed I would say it is very unlikely for either to return at this point.

Has that actually been confirmed? I thought it was merely speculation...

Does this mean they'll sell both the 6GT and the 6GC?

I really hope not. I drove a 435 right after my 640 and the 4er felt downright cheap. I don't intend to offend anybody but that interior belongs in a Mazda, not a BMW. If anything, keep the 6er limited to the GC model aimed at competing with the CLS and A7 while the 8er competes with the S coupe, BCGT and DB11.

Have to agree; I had a 2012 328i for commuting and the interior was atrocious ... barely discernable from a Toyota Camry. That car lasted all of 9 months and I was bored with it.

Cadillac ATS has a nicer interior than the 3 and 4; just my opinion and only gripe is the instrument cluster on the GM product.

That's not confirmation at all. There has been no indication whatsoever from BMW about a new 6 Series coupe, 911-like or otherwise. It's a sketchy rumor at best.
