Purchased a Used 2015 M6GC with CCB's, are these wear indicators bad

I just learned a couple days ago about the wear indicators on the CCB rotors but bought the car before that as the PPI came back totally fine. Can anyone tell me if these look bad or not...I've seen the pictures of new indicators vs used up ones and cant tell if my brakes are in between or what...thx

Generally, the answer is yes. The indicators are partial circles now. That said, the indicators are just a rough estimate. The best way is to use the Porsche tool (no need to take off brakes) or to weigh each individual rotor themselves.

In short, each rotor has 200 grams of usable meat in them. Each rotor starts life at a different weight. The figures are stamped on the rotor. Read this thread starting here to figure out how to measure via the Porsche tool or the weighing method:

34k miles on the car...by the way the vehicle service menu shows rear pads needing replacement in 4100 miles and front in 8000

So the brake sensors on the CBS is generally accurate when pads need changing.

I would read that thread I mentioned carefully and get the rotors weighed or use the Porsche tool. Good luck!

This is the main reason I passed on CCBs cars when I was looking at used M6s. Mileage is not an accurate indicator of wear either, unless you know the car was strictly street driven. Track work will heavily decrease the life of CCBs.
