Not true but true indeed....I just noticed your location was UK. Here in the states we did not get our LCI on GCs until 2016.

Grill slat count is different (I believe 9 instead of 10). On the 2016 vs 2015, the LED blinker is moved to inside the headlight assembly instead of below. The 2016 just has a black plastic trim piece under the headlight. Also, the shape of the Angel Eye DRLs are slightly different.

Are you talking MY2016 or 2016 as the year?

BMW were building LCI cars for the USA throughout 2015 (from 02/2015 according to RealOEM).Europe LCI cars were coming out backend of 2014.

To say M Sport GC's were not "available until 2016" is not the truth though is it? They were available, just not for your market.

Either way the LCI changes are fairly small overall, and the only real benefit for many will be the LED headlights becoming standard. Many of the Idrive updates etc. were done out of sync with the MY changes.

For Msports, the LCI was almost unnoticable. It was a much bigger change for the non-Msport vehicles. There is a BMW page somewhere with pictures of the LCI and non-LCI. If you are looking for an M-sport, I wouldnt get caught up on LCI v, non LCI, as even most BMW nuts cant tell them apart. The LED headlights are awesome, but if you were looking at Msports, there's a very good chance you were getting LED headlights in the non-LCI anyway.

I don't know it with 100% certainty, but I don't believe the grills changed with the LCI.

Yes, MY2016. Since the OP lives in the US, it was indeed the truth for his purposes that LCI GC's were not available until 2016.
