cabin air filter

Recently replaced my cabin air filter and wondering what is correct direction of the arrow (pointing towards the engine or pointing towards cabin)?

From the videos i've watched, it differ from when i removed the old filters. Did the dealership installed them incorrectly previously?

Hi, the airflow arrows on the filters both point towards the cabin, for reference there’s a really useful “how to” maintenance guide as a “sticky” on this 6 series forum complete with pics.

Ditto...the arrows should point toward the cabin. You can see the flow of the fresh air intake & the recirculating air flow in the images below. They are for the f01 7 series, but the generational cousins (5/6/7/X5/X6) have the same design architecture:
