Thought I'd give the Six a little clean as its nice and sunny.
Do love it when the colour pops in the sun

Thank you Awais it's like having two different cars. Cloudy day it looks jet black then when the sun comes out it sparkles.

Have you got any holograms on the window?

Lovely colour, mine needs a wash tomorrow afternoon I think.

Saturday I want to start machine polishing, but I think I will do the underside of the MX5 (polishing the exhaust box and pipes as well as underside plastics).

I think it's just the sun in the window lol

I bet your mx5 is gleaming once done? You'll have to share some pictures when they are both cleaned up :-)

Looking fantastic as usual mate

Can you guys who are into detailing recommend me a decent polish / wax product to get a finish like that, less than 50 squid tho lol,

Had a crack using autoglym products last week and it was good but not great

Cheers bud
Today I used poorboys black hole which I find is pretty good.
Meguiars ultimate wax is pretty good I've found for say £20
Dodo juice hard wax blue velvet is good too.
Also I use Koch Chemi h8.02 heavy cut for getting swirls etc out.
They are all reasonably priced :-)

Hahaha could just be how it look although you can correct glass it just takes longer than paint.

It is, I have done my visual check the front and rear bumpers, boot, side skirts and most of the lower bits of the panels need attention. Then straight to Vintage.

The 6 has come up well with Vintage (no correction bar the black trim and removing one scratch i noticed on the bonnet which I have rounded off to be less obvious so it is more an RDS than a scratch now - removal would compromise the paint far to much).

Be interested to know if anyone has PTG'ed another 6 (excluding front and rear bumpers as well as the wings as these are plastic).

Interestingly I found the doors very thin paint wise around 100 micron level, which shows a low level in context as BM's used to much higher. Bonnet wise I came up with again around 100 microns.

The rear panels and roof though were more around 110 micron interestingly which was a surprise.

Still lower than the average of a few years ago of around 120-130, around 100 would be classed as low (my MX5 is not far off some of these figures sadly, although the paint is far softer on the MX5! Correction can be achieved in one step if you know what you are doing (my plan for the latest one although my "swirls" are extremely light these days so needs only a light gloss pad (the least cut of them all that I know of which is a Carpro gloss pad - to stick in context a Dodo Juice Finishing pad is too aggressive in some areas for my MX5)).

it looks great! I love my grey but every now and then I get a little jealous of how beautiful the darker colors look like in the sun.
