Ok I need some advise guys.. got the Eisenmann Sport put on and its just not loud enough of me. So 2 options .. first is I spend $3k on downpipes (as per dealer recommendation) or I sell it and get a race at the risk of being alienated by drone. I had a feeling this might happen but decided to try it out and see where I ended up.

Joe,
how does it sound on the sport+ mode ? D3 or S3 Here is the thread discussion of going catted vs cattless dp ... just be sure you understand that cattless may trigger "CEL" under heavy load acceleration http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthr...+vs+catless+dp for more thread discussion on the dp, do the search "Catted vs Cattless DP" and you will get lots of threads ... http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthr...+vs+catless+dp Last edited by bobblehead; 06-18-2014 at 06:05 AM.. |

I hear your frustration too. Esport is only +3 db, thus just a bit more than the stock. Mind you, the Eisenmann should still give you a deeper tone than stock. For that $3K, that's one hell of a expensive noise to our ears.
Hopefully, you don't end up spending way too much $ on this mod. That's why I am afraid to spend like $10,000 on a complete exhaust system which may or may not end up to be what I had expected. |

So today I took the car on its paces after having the exhaust meister installed. With the valves open you get a nice deep throaty sound that is definitely louder then stock but I will most likely still go with the AMS DPs. Its just missing that extra little inside the cabin that would make it perfect!

The Race isn't "that" loud either although I imagine it would be a bit louder than sport. I would try installing catless downpipes because when I put them on it opened up an amazing world of sound (I have the race). If the catless DPs dont do it for ya try installing mid-pipes which would open it up a bit more.
I can almost guarantee the catless DPs will liven up that bad boy. I have Eisenmann race, catless DPs, and Eisenmann mid-pipes and I can tell you it's the best money I've spent on the car so far. Sounds wicked as hell. Brian Last edited by bigbrian; 06-18-2014 at 06:39 PM.. |

I have a meisterschaft gt exhuast on order, but am too wondering if the sound will be loud enough. Do the meisterschaft have a louder sound than eisenmann or you think I will need the lrx pipe or downpipes? Thanks

Dilemma, spend another $4k for the DPs trying to make it sound right or stop the bleeding, drive it for a few months and swap it out. Quote:

Many on this board have done it. There is absolutely no way to make this car sound the way you expect from an ///M car if you either don't opt for the CP or a full system exhaust - either way you are between 7-10k.

OK each to there own I suppose, the CP exhaust wired open is what I will start with and see.
I do not keep my cars long enough to spend that kind of "Mod Money" TBH.

I think the cats are holding back the sound. I don't care what mufflers you go with you are not going to open up the true sound without getting rid of the cats. You can snag a set of Motive Concepts downpipes for $1600 and they are ceramic coated w/ very clean welds. With what you have already spent another $1,600 isn't much in my opinion.
Also you could go cheap and have a shop weld straight pipe where the resonators are in the mid-pipes. You don't need to spend $2700 on mid-pipes. A shop would probably do it for less than $500. Brian |
