Anyone care to share the first 4 of the last 7 digits of a 2016 MY M6 GC? For example D468xxx (from the last 2015 MY cars).

Hmmmm....apparently it's BMW depriving us Americans over then.
Seems very legit. I will definitely get in contact with my CA and see what he can find out in the am. If the comp package is available, since my build is still 112, I'm going to have them cancel it and/or add it. Thank you WELM6 the option code definitely helped.

Well without the competition pack, the upgrade from 19 to 20 inch wheels would have cost £2k so for 3k extra I get the comp pack which includes the 20 alloys.
Have stayed with the 343 alloys because they are a forged wheel and the competition alloy is a cast wheel---and I think they look better! :-) |

I thought all the M6 wheels were 20 inch, and 343M's a no cost option.

Richard, M6 GC's all around the world get Style 433's as standard which (I know you know this, but for the wider audience) are cast and heavy. There is typically a cost option to go to either silver or black Forged 343's. These are the lightest 20" wheels available from BMW. The 601's associated with the Comp Pack are cast and heavy.
The GC doesn't have the option for a 19" downgrade anywhere. However Coupe and Convertibles come with 19" 344's as stock. These are forged and actually lighter than the 343's - mainly as they are smaller. However they don't fit over ceramic brakes available on the M6. All are the same sizes and offsets, 9.5" and 10.5" and 31mm and 19mm Front and Rear. The M5 is different though, for them all wheels are 9" and 10" with 32mm and 34mm Front and Rear. Their 19" option is style 345 which I think actually looks really good! There seems to be some confusion with M5's on 601 wheels. Some specs list them as 9.5" and 10.5" wide. Both the German website and Realoem list them at 9" and 10". The BMWUSA Ordering List has them at 9.5" and 10.5". Realoem does list what I suspect is a mistake of 9.5" and 10.5" but these are the offsets for an M6, 31mm and 19mm, I suspect it is a copy and paste mistake! I don't really care anyway though as 601's are heavy and silly |

I didn't realise that 344Ms were 19, not really looked at them as they were not an option on the GC.
In the UK the 343M is a no cost option (on the GC), except in Black. |

The coupe comes with 19 inch alloys as standard.
The 343 alloys in 20 inch are a payable upgrade, as are the 343 alloys in black. You get 20 inch 601 alloys standard with the comp pack, but you also have the option of 343's. I went for the 343's as they are forged, whereas the 601's are cast. I have had enough problems trying to get cast alloys balanced correctly in years gone by! Tim |

My dealer tells me BMW will not sell me a Competition Package with a stick, nor will it sell me the 601s without the CP (I like the looks of the 601s). So I got a manual, no CP, 343M wheels. The order has been accepted, but I'll see if we can change to CP if they open it up between now and build date.

So really, it's a bit like us in the UK not being able to buy an M6 with a manual box...
Though with respect I can't really see why anybody would want a manual box as the car is designed fot the DCT gearbox which is one of its major assets. |

Let me know if you are able to procure the CP for your '16 M6. My CA is still trying to get the m-performance parts before the car hits the VPC!! Hope it all works out! |

My ca said it's simply placed with the order. There's no back order or anything. Ask him to get his GM involved because I had them add the diffuser, the spoiler, and the M performance wheel with LEDs included in my msrp with the installment being at VPC. Also- I was told if I cancel my order and wait until week 26 (first week of July) I can add the comp package. So I told them I'd think about it and give an answer Monday. OP- just know it is an option for manual and dct. However you'll have to wait until a later allocation to put the order in.

This is the M performance wheel with LEDs. Neat little toy that lights up along with the rpm revs

I'm excited to see the new HUD, ambient lighting and nav screen! I still for the life of me can't tell the difference on the rear lights, but they say they are? :

This is the difference.
The top one is mine (2013) and the bottom one is LCI (2016)
