M6 exhaust options.

Hello all, at the moment I have the exhaustmeister fitted on my stock M6 GC and it really has helped the sound. I still have the stock exhaust. It still isn't enough for me though. What is my next option? Akropivic seems to get a lot of feedback bit are there cheaper nearly as good options? Should I decat the stock?

I am looking louder.

Decat downpipes will add a large chunk of sound. Adding a full Akro to that will wake the devil. Mine does anyhow! 😎

There isn't much alternative to the musical tone of the Akropovic. M Performance system is cheaper of course, but still on the expensive side. I would suggest taking the cat out, but if you are a mature man you will not like the smell.

I went for the MPE which is made by Akra but am not sure if it's toned down a bit, regardless if it is it still sounds the business and have had a lot of comments about it.
A little vid below will give you some idea to sound , it's through the internal mic on GoPro so there is some wind noise

Once the cats are gone - the exhaust small will be much more noticeable ...

Going Catless and downpipes will give you more of a turbo spool sound which is cool ... but the CEL will illuminate a lot of the time due to emissions, thus the smell ... and the growl is only slightly better.

After doing the Super Sprint Catless Downpipes ... I eventually did the Akra

Turner Muffler Delete may be an option as well

To clarify - downpipes decat will throw the emissions light? Not sure I can be bothered with that. Or is there a workaround?

Yes ... going catless will throw the emissions light ... not many after market tuning options will be able to adjust or override this problem.

Mine goes off occasionally only to return later

I personally like Meisterschaft! It sounds awesome ,You can adjust the sound via the remote control and is a fraction the cost of Akra..

My Meisterschaft exhaust was just delivered. I'm currently running Gintani catless downpipes and have completed the Exhaust Flap mod but it still didn't produce the sound the M6 should be making. I will report back once i have them installed.

I did get the valved version, which allows me to quiet things down in the even its too loud, but i doubt that will be the case. I just wanted to have the option.

JB4 will also arrive this week and I will head over to Enzo to get a stacked tune. I'm hoping it all comes together as planned.

The People at Dinan say I am over 700 Hp now and about 670 ft lbs ... I get a bit more wheel hop under acceleration, meaning the power output is just at the point to overpower the stability/traction control.

Butt dyno suggests it has a lot of get up and go, and the car feels lite on the track now.

It was expensive, but warranty was key for me.

The Carbon fibre intakes for stage II also are very nice!

If you like the tone of the stock exhaust and just want a little more sound, you should try downpipes

We will be installing a set of downpipes soon, I'll be sure to take a clip
