I bet this 6 will look pretty aggressive (better) in person and on the road.
I never noticed it before, but I think you are absolutely right about the iDrive buttons. Definately looks like someone cut a hole in the armrest and slide them in. Definately not a fan of the new 6er, or most of the newly designed BMWs for that matter.

Well I have to say there are things I like and things I dont like. That being said it is overall a really sweet looking ride!

I am confused though with all the "dontblogaboutthis" stuff, I didnt think the highlight of the show would be the 6er... And I figured the VED would be in more production form. But it looks the same as a year or two ago.

Or is that unveiling still going to happen?

+100

I actually really liked Mr.Bangle design concept. I wasn't really understand neither when first E60 & E63 came out, and there are so many people out their who really hate the designs and wanted to throw Mr.Bangle away.

I do notice thou that design is a very subjective thing and I should not urge w/ anyone about it, but for myself, I thought the designs were very artistic, fresh, new, and cool. It was actually the first time i can really see ModernArt+Car = Ultimate driving Machine, could really be happened.

For Mr.Hooydonk's design concept, when I first began to taste his design concept, I felt kindda disappointed because as we all know that he had been working closely with Mr.Bangle, so I was expecting him to do something even more "ART CRAZY" than Mr.Bangle, but eventually he did not.

However, he did something even more special(to me). Now, I just love his design concept. I just fall in love with it. For me, it is not "Art+Car" concept anymore, it is more about "Nature+Car". All the lines and curves that cut along the body of the new F10 and E89 is just almost perfect and gives you kind of the feeling of the hidden energy inside it, and of course, the interior. It is just awesome. However, somehow both car do not receive their justice on the photo. Both cars looks kindda bland and boring on the pictures, but in the real world, it is just gorgeous.

It is weird, but really, imo all of the new bimmers that are coming out lately only looks good in person, but not so much on the pictures.

Ohh,,almost forget,,the new 6 Series looks pretty good, so far. I like it!!

P.S. Sorry for my poor English skill, and my misunderstanding.

IMHO, not a big improvement over the old one.
^^^^ I fully agree ^^^^ I dont like the facia at all, the lower openings on both the new 5 and 6 series front bumpers look like shiet!

Are you serious... This is the most unique production interior BMW has ever had... Why is the 6er always the bastard child of BMW. The old ones were nice and this one is even nicer.

I dont get why a bunch of Bimmer guys would be bashing the new design direction BMW is going in. You all know that in 3 years when your lease is up you'll be getting the next 3er or 5er or whatever car that follows this current design trend.

Then you'll say, Well its "grown" on me, just like the people who said they hated the Bangle style, then loved it a few years later when they bought one! LOL

Why not just respect a new design instead of bashing it. You may not love it, but is it really bad enough to bash?

Were not looking at a some fugly Chrysler or Geo here, this is the future direction of BMW.

Sheesh, Rant over.

Absolutely stunning...10 times better than the previous model. It has a cleaner, well rounded and proportioned look, esp for a car this size. Looks like BMW is gunning for the Merc CL with this one!

Those wheels better be "self cleaning", otherwise it could be a bitch to try to clean them yourself all those tight spots

Dunno guys... I hate to say it but I miss Bangle. Something is missing in all these new cars. There is not challenge to love, there is no challenge to admire, its pretty but pretty safe; like a pretty china doll. It doesn't stir but just abides. Its not sexy or passionate its pretty and that is how BMWs are being designed now. I guess we will have to wait for the in person experience or wait for the M6 to see something ravishing.

The Bangle 6er was ahead of its time, this one is just with the times. And that is the real difference between the BMW of yesterday and today.
