What about catted downpipes? Will they give good gains?

I would invest in Catless Downpipes instead of the MSR intakes. Unless you want to get both....

The intakes just add a nice sound. The downpipes give solid gains and will change the sound of your M performance exhaust nicely. .
I want both!

Have you removed your charcoal filters? I heard that is a good move to make before buying new intake!

catted DPs are more for the sound factor and not for maximum gains in HP.
you also get less smell from the exhaust with a low cell cat than no cat.

Do you know which DPs are best for the m6? I wonder if I should wait until I get a tune or get the downpipes first so the tune can get done with those in mind.

Lol. I ordered the fabspeed DPs. I should have them next week.

From what I've researched, the brand of the DPs doesn't seem to matter too much, but I don't know for certain. Catted will land you less performance gains then catless, but will have less of the bad smell.

mine are Fabworx catless DPs, I love them but I don't think there is much difference in brands as they're just a piece of metal pipe with no filters (cat cells). Some are welded in more joints and some are mandrel bent instead.

That's what I've read as well. How much difference could there possibly be, they are just pipes, right? Of course they can look different and be fabricated differently as well.

I've decided to go with fabworx catless DPs and msr intake. I'm just concerned about the check engine light. I don't think DPs would cause limp mode?

I ran catless downpipes with no tune for a while, i would imagine the car can adjust, however, it would be ideal to have some sort of tune on there to help it out, even if its a JB4 or something.

You will be happier with the car with downpipes and intake

For sure. I'm going with bootmod plus msr for now, maybe DPs down the road if needed! Thanks
