what should I go with?

What do you guys recommend panamera GTS or BMW M6 GC or Audi RS7 or CLS 63S or used Austin Martin Rapide?

I really don't know. So what do you think?

I suspect on the M6 board you'll probably find a lot of recommendations for the M6 here is my $0.02:

The GTS lacks the HP/Torque oomph of the M6 and honestly I just don't like the look of the Panamera that much (especially compared to the rest of your list). I think Porsche makes great cars for the track (or track-like driving) but I'm just not sold on the Panamera.

The M6 is amazing.

The RS7 is I think the closest match to the M6. Lighter, tons of power, similar price (once you add the options), and as a guy who's owned a number of Audis, they make good cars.

I've heard good things about the 63 but have never driven one. Can't really comment.

Aston Martin Rapide is slow (compared to the other cars on your list). I haven't driven a Rapide, but I have spent a fair bit of time in an DB9. The DB9 looks and sounds sexier than the M6, but honestly in every other way I prefer the M6. The Rapide doesn't score as high in looks as the DB9. And of course since it's $$$ and you're looking used you'll end up with less warranty and older technology.

This is a good article, although doesn't cover the M6 or the AM - http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...n/viewall.html

And for M6 vs Panamera - http://www.bmwblog.com/2013/10/18/bm...og-test-drive/

To keep it short and simple. The Panamera GTS is quite long in the tooth and due for an update. The current Panamera has been around for ages now it seems and the redesign is just around the corner. The Audi is a beautiful car. Although I prefer the interior of the M6 and actually think the Grand Coupe looks even better. I also prefer RWD to the AWD platform. It's amazing the kind of damage a tuned M6 can do on a rolling start race vs a tuned RS7 even despite the tuned RS7 being able to put down much faster quarter mile times from a dig. Not a fan of the CLS63's looks or interior although they can also be tuned to be monstrous. I just think they seem a little dated as well. As far as the Rapide, it's quite a lot more money than any of the other cars and you will get a lot less in terms of performance and technology. However it is the most exotic and has the most road presence. If you're big on performance and tech get the M6, if you just want a car that looks good on the outside, get the Rapide or any of the other options you think may look best.

In short I want a fun car to drive. Car the sounds sexy when I down shift. I have heard the GTS and rapide they sound amazing. BTW I have 650i that's why I don't want the m6 they look the same right.

The Rapide just looks fantastic, and AM does great exhaust notes. I'm sure the tech is relatively outdated, and pure performance not with the others. A friend with a DB said its electrical system was a nightmare -- but he looooooved it. It is a classic. A used Rapide would presumably cost you maintenance/ repair money at a good dealer, but might be worth it.

I'm biased, as I'm a few weeks away from picking up a new M6 GC -- but it's true I lust after the Rapide.

I have driven the panamera GTS and TurboS on the race track at Mosport out side of Toronto, and the CLS 63 AMG on the Track in Vegas, and the Audi RS7 on the track in Vancouver and the M6 GC in Montreal on the track ...

I agree, the panamera is dated, heavy, not a fan of the front or butt ... have to do the TurboS as that just feels better and more nimble but not as nice an exhaust note as the GTS ... however you are going to pay for every single option ... you need a lot of $$$$$ to do it up right (Fully loaded 2015 S63 AMG with every option, designio exclusive interior and exterior individual collection less carbon ceramic breaks was cheeper than a PANAMERA done up the same) ...

M6 GC or any M6 for that matter ... better deal, amazing technology and fit/finish ... yeah I hate the stock exhaust and tone ... easy fix for about $13k ... many accessories to make it custom! on our third BMW and 2nd M6 .. great value, eye turner and wonderful warantee and service (They even replaced calipers, pads and roater on my last M6 at 40,000 km due to s squeek they couldn't get rid of under warantee) ... FUN TO DRIVE AND MESS WITH OTHERS ON THE ROAD WITH!!!!

CLS 63 ... yes a little dated now, due for mid cycle face lift then new shape soon after ... having had one S450 and 2 S63 AMGs and driven a few CLS 63 AMGs on the trqack in vegas over the last 6 years ... wonderful fit and finish, exhaust note amazing ... good support and warantee, but every service you are going to have to pay .. no free service ... but great reliable cars and backed well ... cls 63 was a monster on the track, although felt a bit heavy ... AMG formatic is nice, shaves about 0.5 sec 0 to 60 ... CAN BE TOTAL SLEEPERS ... THAN POW - MY FAVOURITE PART WITH THE S63 aMG ... MOST MISTAKE THAM AS JUST LARGE BENZES WITH NO GET UP AND GO ... HAVE EATEN A FEW CORVETTES WITH BOTH MY 2011 AND 2015 s63 AMG ... IN THE DUST ... THAT IS THE FUN FACTOR AS MANY UNDERESTIMATE THE AMGS AND MAY NOT EVEN REALIZE ITS AN AMG ... FRIENDS WITH CLS 63S REPORT THE SAME ... BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO DO THE CLS 63 - S amg TO GET THE FULL POWER

Audi RS7 - sweet look, nice details, quatro ... but just not a big fan of the brand

Austin

if you got the $$$ .. can't really go wrong with either of the german options ... just depends what you like and want in the driveway

just my 2 cents

M6 DCT at about 80ms is one of the fastest trans around. Take an M6 from 100-25 under heavy braking/downshifting and see if this fits your definition of fun. Now repeat with the Panamera, Rapide, RS7, and CLS 63.

Are you after looks or fun? The M6 is a different car than the 650.

I had the 650 before the current M6, totally different animals and performance is years apart although mines mapped.

Correct... I love M DCT... One of the best transmission in market. Even SSG (McLaren) is not comparable with M DCT
I have not driven new PDK but the old one (997) is a joke compare to M DCT... the same thing with ZF or MCT

Too me they look too close to the same thing. Thats my only issue with the M6. When you look at and RS7 vs an A7 or a CLS550 vs CLS63 you see more differences than the M6 and regular 6. Other than that amazing car.

To be brutally honest (I'm sure any other Aston Martin owners will say the opposite) the DB9 is probably the worst sports car purchase I have ever made. Don't get me wrong, it's a "nicer" car than everything else you listed (IMO) but when it comes down to what you actually get for the money, it's just not worth it.

One thing I will leave you with is that the design of the Aston Martin has remained exotic-luxury from 2007 to 2015. While IMO the M6 in 06/07 has aged and no longer looks "new/premium". Most people still think my 2007 is like a 2014/2015. It's funny how caddy people in Newport are. If you're looking for a great deal on an exotic I can hook you up with an exotic broker. But I won't share details until you've decided (you can imagine how many people "say" they're getting X car and then never do).

IMO go with the M6

Well it depends what you are looking for.
I don't really care if they look the same since I know they don't perform the same...
I have not got M6 for what people think about me... I got it to enjoy and that's why after 2 years driving 650i I switched to M6

I agree with you. But it would be nice if they looked a bit more different. I think BMW should have changed the hood of the car like they did with the M4.

Test drive each, they all have their pros and cons. My choice would be between the M6GC and RS7...

I guess it's very simple to distinguish there is a big piece of CF on top is called CF roof
Also those big drilled rotors and calipers are obviously tell the difference.
No need to mention the different bumpers and quad exhaust and trunk spoiler beside the rims.
