New owner of 15' M6 Convertible

Finally pulled the trigger and went with the convertible. I've been lurking the forums for a while and you guys were a great resource so thank you all.

Only option I didn't get was the competition package which was unavailable with the lease deal I got. Is there an aftermarket add-on that I can get to sort of mimic the competition package? I know that the CP comes with different performance wheels/tires but I wasn't quite too sure what exactly it adds on besides the horsepower.

Thanks!

Congratulation!
Rarely I have seen standard 19" rims on M6 since most of us have either the optional OEM 343M or 601M or aftermarket rims but I have to admit they look nice

Welcome to the addiction

If those are 20 inch rims they likely are the competition package rims as per the Canadian spec car ... The comp package had 15 more hp bringing it to 575 from 560 ... New 2016 cp brings it to 600 hp. Other than that, the cp has the lowered ride and stiffer suspension and the arkrapovic cat back exhaust ... And the 20 inch forged rims that look like what you have on that car

For 9k Canadian it was not a bad deal ... I didn't do the cp as lowered ride would limit parkade usage and my driveway would have been a Challenge ... All else I got

Bigbrian has a lot of knowledge seeing at how heavily modified his car is.

There are many options ... What you are willing to spend on a car you may just drop the keys off on at end of lease may be the determining factor!

enjoy the addiction and welcome! Nice looking cab!!!

Those are 19" 344 style forged rims.
BTW M6 CP is not lowered than M6 non CP although M5 CP is lowered (10 mm) than M5 non CP.

YOU ARE CORRECT ... IN CANADA WE DO NOT HAVE THE OPTION OF THE 19 INCH RIMS ... 20S ONLY ... I CONFUSED THE 601M FOR THE ONE ON THIS CAR

Comp package does not bring Akrapovic catback exhaust. It's pretty much the same as the stock non-CP exhaust with a few minor changes like baffle-less mufflers.

I'm 100% sure. I own the M Performance Exhaust (Akrapovic Evolution Line rebranded by BMW) fitted on a CP car. All CP cars, Canadian, Euro, American have an exhaust system that's 99% identical to the stock system in non-CP cars the exception being minor modifications in the mufflers. The Akrapovic exhaust can only be had as a MSRP $8500 aftermarket add-on either as their own Evolution Titanium Exhaust or the M Performance Exhaust via BMW but it never comes as part of any package or option in the M6.

Cool! Thanks for the info! I will correct my dealer parts dudes re this area of miss information as they were stating that it was part of the CP and this was a great deal ... Assuming I wanted the rest of the items with the CP ... Which I didn't as I wanted custom rims and othe mods. I ordered my car Dec 24 2014 ... Well before the 2016 hit assembly line, so perhaps he miss info was based on speculation as to changes for 2016

How do you like the M Perf exhaust ... Does t really give you a deeper exhaust tone (more base) and no drown? I have been thinking about adding it now that I am catless with supersprint down pipes

I think the M Performance Exhaust is the best mod I did to the car. The sound is actually more high pitched than the stock exhaust was. I'd call it more "racey" and I've been told by other M6 owners with other exhaust that although it's not the loudest it is the nicest sounding. Has a great tone to it. There is absolutely no drone. Mine is actually for sale as I'm moving the car out of the way as soon as my new car comes in in about a week or so.

Includes the carbon fiber exhaust tips which are a ~$1400 option.
