2008 650i depreciation value
Looking for a new car this summer and was interested in getting a 2006-07 from the dealer, but from research the 08 has a few newer things than just the awesome trunk light that gives the trunk more character ,but a fresher idrive as well. Im thinking about paying the few more grand and just get an 08. What do you guys think the depreciation value for an 08 would be by the end of this year as an estimate? in my area they are around the 31,000-36,999 range, was hoping to find one just at 30k or possibly high 20k's.

My honest opinion. Get a 2006 and upgrade your iDrive from modmynav and you can purchase the light for the trunk as well. It will be cheaper then buying an 08! I have an 06 and plan on doing those things. It's going to be more affordable!

About 7k, an 08 goes for about 45-50k right now with low miles, so it is all well worth it to just update. I got quoted 3k for the CIC upgrade, haven't researched the lights yet.

Just keep in mind that with a '06 and if you sink those dollars into it to upgrade NAV, rims and lights you're going to want to hold on to it. I doubt you're going to get much/any of it back if/when you decide to sell.

There is no way you can get a good 650i for high 20's. I wouldn't touch one of those with someone else's ten foot pool. I would say you are looking at high 30's to high 40's for a good low-mileage CPO car.

for an 06, yeah you definately can, with maintenance records and all you just got to call around and be willing to shop around. an 08 yeah that seems harder, i found a cpo one from a bmw dealer for 31,000 though, but like i mentioned from above im waiting til after summer/winter to get one, it's going to devalue atleast $3k by the end of the year making it high 20's. this is cali these cars aren't rare at all where im from. i see atleast one a day in the bay area and when i visit my family in los angeles i atleast see like 3-4 a day in west la smh..

Looking to do the same, would love to grab a vert and enjoy it the rest of the summer but I think my buying power will increase significantly by just waiting for crapoy weather. Goo luck and keep us updated.
