New To Forum! A couple of pics and questions

Hello fellow M6 owners. This is my first official post. I appreciate this forum as it was able to help purchase my 2013 San Marino Blue M6 2 months ago. I'm at the point where im ready to start performance mods. However, im a bit concerned about the launch control of the car. Is it better to use LC or just to power brake when taking off? In my previous E63 M6, the LC would spin way too much rubber for my liking. Also, from a performance standpoint, is it better to shift manually or drive automatically when racing? I find that manual shifts yield better results.

All in all, i think the F13 m6 is an amazing car a lot different from the E63 M6. Any insight would be great and below is a dirty pic of my car.

Just made my first official post too! IMO the LC on this car isnt great. It launches, with no control. Still wheel spins and I feel the point of LC is to prevent that and get the best jump off the line. Since the car doesnt move foot off brake, i just stomp the gas and let traction control keep me in line.

Nice congrats brother.. I'm thinking the same thing, just using MDM and gradually accelerate until its fully floored.

congrats and welcome to the family! I never use LC, honestly this car shines at launching from a roll so LC is pointless. let the AWDs dominate the launch from 0.

Launch Control is a pointless feature and it also stresses the M significantly. These cars are loaded with power from the factory. The key to launching the car is in your right foot. Flooring it doesn't help. You have to adjust to the power curve and feel the car out as it pulls. It takes some getting used to. But keep playing with it until you learn where the traction kicks in. As your speed gets up, you can mash it a little harder....

Much appreciated, as soon as we get some dry weather in NYC, it''ll be practice time.

congrats!!

I used the launch control only in my last M6 Cab ... never did with the new gen car as it has MUCH MORE POWER ... and after the mods I did even a little heavy into the fun peddle and the tires chirp in any gear and any speed ...
