Take whatever the MSRP is on that car, knock off 3k CAN, and use that as the final "out-the-door" price (i.e., it's the final number you write on the check to drive the car off the lot).

So, for example. If MSRP is 90k. Tell the dealer you want the car for 87k (a price that includes tax, title, fees, etc.).

Start a lot lower than that! There is a huge markup in these cars and with the deals being offered on new cars, a demo should sell considerably lower.

Offer $10K less than they are asking as a starting point and see where it goes...good luck

I got 10k off my order on a 2013 640i GC. USAA offers 10k for military but it requires you to finance through USAA. My dealer gave me $6500 off the car and the $3500 holiday credit for using BMW financing.

Thanks for all your comments. I attached the dealer Ad.

The car has 10375 KMs on it and the dealer is offering CA$ 7,716.00 on MSRP (CA$ 123,481.01). I think the discount is very low!!

I might not be familiar with the Canadian market. But I ordered a 2013 650i gran coupe and got more of a discount than that. If you read through the forums a lot of people have gotten $7-$10K off brand new 6 series cars. So in my honest opinion $7k off a 2012 with 10k miles on it doesn't seem like a good deal to me.

NOT a good deal at all...

Mmm.. That car has been used for a year and they only coming off $7,000k?
Again, like previously posted, the Canadian market may be different; but I too, ordered a 2013 640i; and the discount that I was able to get was more than what they are offering you.
In my humble opinion, the starting negotiating point should be the dealer cost number, NOT the MRSP. Then from that point on, see how much they are willing to come down, or; what kind of perks/extras can they throw your way. In addition to that, here in the US, there is now a Holliday credit of $3,500, an loyalty credit of $750 that you can then add to the Capital cost if you use BMW financial services (lease or buy); not sure if you have those incentives in Canada.
There are folks in this forum, that had gotten 14 to 19k+ off the MRSP, when buying left over 2012 models that have no milage on them.
Even though your dealer wants you to think different, remember this basic premise: you are not buying a left over 2012 floor model; you are buying a 2012 car that has been used for a year!.

You take 7% off MSRP and your at invoice, which is $9,000 and its used on top of that with 10k on the dial and your at years end. I wouldn't pay more than $115,000 and thats pushing it but thats in the US market, I don't know much about the Canadian market.

Thanks for all your replies. I went to see the dealer yesterday and drove the car in question. I have to say it is a very nice car, I currently drive a Porsche Panamera 4S but 6er interior and technology is so much superior to the Panamera. After one hour of negotiation we came down to $111,000 (including 19in. BMW winter tire kit and the last two payments of my current car lease ($3600). I was very tempted to take the offer but I am going to think about it till Monday and then make my final decision.

Now that is a much better deal.

I am just wondering if you might regret paying that much money and A. not having adaptive drive but B. not having the extra power of the 2013.

It seems like you could possibly get a 2013 with adaptive drive and those options for just a few thousand more. Especially since it would take at least 2 months to get so they wouldn't have to pay the rest of your car lease.

Wow that is crazy! And it makes the deal so much better. Will you be leasing or buying?

Yeah I think that is a great deal for you. You get the features of a 2013 with the price of a 2012, and it doesn't matter that it's a 2012 since you are leasing and not buying.
