No, not kidding. And for the record, start stop is always off and I don't drive like a pensioner.

Wow 40 mpg how so? I'm getting 20.3 mpg and I thought I was doing pretty good.

One day I'm going to try to drive tamely for an entire tank and see what kind of mileage I get. Not sure when that day will be...

My oil burner has averaged 32mpg over 7k mostly in sport mode short runs and town driving will easily do 45mpg on longer motorway runs

About 2,500 miles in, I'm averaging 16.4 mpg on my 2013 650i xDrive (probably 2/3 city and 1/3 highway). I feel like I drive pretty fast, not sure how I could drop down to 11 mpg like some of the folks on this thread.

between 14 and 15 mpg for me on my 650xi Gran Coupe.

Pretty much in Sport mode most of the time...some manual shifting and start/stop is always off!

Tried driving a little more conservatively but lasted about 5 minutes!

I'll do longer highway stretches in comfort+ mode which gives good gas mileage but the moment I get back on the accelerator the average drops pretty quickly!! lol

This car is very much like my 4.8is X5 in terms of gas consumption...my last 535xi was very gas efficient in contrast to the 650i....but neither was this much fun

WOW! How big is the 6 series fuel tank? With that much power all the time, how long do your tires last?

I get 250 -275 miles per tank from my 09 M3 and 450 from my X5 5.0

16 or 17 gallons in the tank. My favorite thing is the distance-to-empty guage, which tops out at an extremely optimistic 400 miles. A full tank reads 280.

The tank is 18.5 gallons.

I love how it starts out saying 380-something miles and then I get half way there and get a low fuel warning.
