2016 M6 High Temperature Warning

When I drive in hot weather and park the car, sometimes when I come back after a while (like in a store, or picking somebody up) the car gives me a warning that warns about high engine temperature and warns me to drive moderately. The engine operating temperature showing on the gauge can even be back down due to cooling while not operating, but the car warns me about it anyhow, like it has a memory of those hot times after I shut it off. The warning tends to persist until I stop the car again. So it just seems like an overly sensitive system, telling me that after operating normally and then stopping in hot weather, it's hot -- which I don't doubt. I just wish the warning would go away faster once the operating temperature is down, which it definitely is.

Has anybody else had this problem?

Something isn't right , I didn't get a high temp warning doing multiple 20 minute track sessions on a 93 degree day in mine and I drove the piss out of it . I would take it by the dealer .

Thanks for the feedback. I'll find a time to take it in.

When You shut the car off ... does the Electric radiator fans and circulation pumps not run for a few minutes to help cool the Radiator fluid/engine, Differential and transmission?
This could be a part of the problem if they do not stay on

The fans run. I can't tell whether the pumps run. I hope so!
