Cars Targeted Again

Dear all, just for your info, it seems the scuzz squad is at work again at least in the South Birmingham are, this week my brothers in laws M5 had an attempted theft but the shits could get into the house.

Last night my M6 GC and wives 530 both had bricks out through them on the drive way at about 10pm, the 5s ok, though the M6 will need new carbon fibre roof, boot lid and rear quarter paint, new back seat, new drivers seat rear, new console etc.

Also last night my neighbour had an attempt on hes R32 again unsuccessful.

All properties have CCTV though this appears to be no determent.

The chap at Sytner Central Bham told me their seeing 4/5 cars per week either stolen recovered or vandalised.

What can be done

discuss

Cheers

wtf! No wonder you guys want to stay away as far from the rest of Europe as possible...

Catch the criminals and summary execution to make an example of them will surely straighten them out.

I am extremely sorry to hear about your pain that you went through. Its devasting to see your passion cars being vandalized in this horrid manner.
Be safe and the most I can say is be on vigil. local Police is going to be useless.

Yes they police are a waste of time, did you know that they book you in to make a statement nowadays or do it via phone, they offered me a station 12 miles away from my home and a appointment next tuesday, a full 6 days after the event

unfortunately there is no deterrent for these low life scum, from what i read these are 15/16 yr old kids doing this, who cant even be named for legal reasons here in the UK. the going rate seems to be about £1000 per car and they typically operate in gangs of 4 so £250 each is not bad for a nights work.

Wil get a sit rep tomorrow re damage, as silly as it sounds I'm thinking i don't what the car back knowing my brand new purchase has been messed around with even though its cosmetics.

Lets see

Dear taheemr
I don't see how you're going to avoid getting your car back.?
We had a volvo nicked off the drive by breaking and entering for keys years ago...the police found the car and unfortunately we had to have it back cus it was fairly old.... Then, You lose out cus it goes on the stolen recovered register...!
So in the end we kept it for 10 years and 150,000 miles, when we hot £1500 for it..
Our car is now in the garage, but unless you can get the car off the drive, there is no deterent... As you say, cctv is useless, cus they run around with their hoods up and faces covered.... Complete tw@ts...
Like I said before, when things like this happen, it makes me think about older, valueless cars...
It's not bloody fair....

Yes this is true, for sure there is no way that a 6month old M6 will be totalled by this type of claim, i was just remarking on the fact that it leaves a bad taste knowing a factory fresh car has been pulled to pieces and then rectified.

Taheer, sorry to hear about this, just terrible.

Scum bags! This kind of thing was part of the reason we left Manchester and moved to the countryside.

Here is the total bill for the damage to the car, suffice to say its for more or less the complete interior as well as paint and the carbon fibre roof, the dealership said it may well go up further depending on what they find.

Someone should go to jail for this, how is this different to a robbery or fraud for instance, or perhaps its classed as a victimless crime nowadays.

That's horrendous. Thing is dealers will change every part they can to get the mark up on the parts when insurers are payinh.

They say its' victimless, but we all pay in the end. bastards.

yes quite, the dealer is claiming right down to rear seat belt buckles, rear light lenses, so anything thats been in contact with the shards of glass will be replaced. Half of me almost feels guilty for this level of expenditure, but then again the cars got to be factory fresh again. The ironic thing is that i can tell you now even though its at franchised body shop, it ell be back and forth a few times before is right.

I feel for you. Mine needed a new drivers door card as the leather had an air bubble under in it the door pocket.

It took BMW "experts" 4 months to sort it, after having the car for a whole month at first when they broke some clips that were on back order. Then the new card came and they mis-fitted it and broke some more parts

At least they paid a months finance for the month I was without it when I complained.

I then had to drive it for 3 months with the original faulty door card back on while they waited for parts from Germany (I had to insist, they wanted to keep it for 3 more months!!)

None of the coloured / leather interior is "stock" they are all made to order to suit build runs as the trim variants are too many and too low volume.

Latest is that the car will be back mid April, I'm using the Sytner body shop in Oldbury, i will say my experience of them in the past has not been great when the repaired the wifes 5 series, the work was generally shoddy, they replaced / painted a complete side and refused to paint the sill and wing mirror as they were not getting paid for it, id have thought it would be good practice but no !.

Sytner Solihul sub their work out to a body shop close to coventry and again are not great, so really I'm stumped its either BMW or Direct lines mass repair centre.

Suffice to say given the bill, I shall look at the work under a find microscope before the car is collected.
