Spark Plug Change on F13 M6
Took my F13 M6 in for oil change with 38k miles and dealer says its due for Spark Plug change... $920. Thinking of changing plugs myself and just replacing plugs... has anyone done this without new ignition coils for this interval? any issues?

I might change out my coils and plugs sometime this month, I can make a write up for you guys.
I recommend using 1 step colder for the guys that plan on modding their cars.

Hopefully we can start a DIY sticky with the M5's and M6's.

I did my own plugs.. The OEM Plugs are perfect, even for modified/tuned cars..
No need to go Colder Step with our cars..researched this.. As for install its very straightforward and easy.. You will need a special socket thats super thin to get the plugs out.. I got/ordered mine at Autozone.. You can also look around for a shop that has them in stock. I forget what its called, but search for "Thin Spark plug socket' Besides that, basic tools will do the rest of the job. There is One annoying part.. The Coil lines are packed tightly, so to get to 2 of the plugs is a bit of a pain. You really have to wiggle/stretch the cable to reach down in it.. You can also slowly remove parts of it to get more access.. Just take your time and you shouldnt have a problem. Remember to torque the plugs to the correct common torque.. I think its around 20lbs.. a search will yield this. Good luck!
