New tyres almost needed - recommendations required plz
So it's almost time for my first tyre change on the gran coupe sitting on 343m wheels with Pirelli's from factory. Reading other posts I am considering following
1) switch over to Michelin pilot super sports, from what I understand better grip particularly in the wet as you get a lot more wet/cold months than hot months here in the UK. 2) I feel that the Pirelli's do have quite a bit of road noise, would the michelin's be a bit quiter? 3) increase tyre width on the rear for better traction and keep the fronts at 265 4) in say normal driving conditions how many less miles am I likely to get with the michelin's? If anyone has had any good experiences with any other type of michelin's or brand please chime in. |

Go for MPSS or MPS4S ....
The best combination is 275/35/20 front, 305/30/20 rear Has better grip, traction and 305 looks so nice on rear ... less noise than pirelli BTW... Michelin also has longer life time than Pirelli since Pirelli has softer compound...

I got the 4s for my fronts (rears have 4k more miles to go). Getting the newer version means single or dual replacement will be easier in the future

So went for the MPS4S 275/35/20 front, 305/30/20*on rear, after a month of driving can comment that the grip is sooooo much better along with ride comfort and rolling noise. Will be installing the kw drop soon to finish the wider stance.
What tyre pressures should I be running, car never has more than 2 passengers at any given time with normal luggage load. |

I think the book says 34 psi, but with just me in the car I tend to run at 32 psi given the dreadful state of many UK roads.
What are main differences between MPSS and MPS4S ? |
