Exclamation Weird Noise Heard Inside F12/F13 BMW 650

I'm hearing a strange noise inside the car. It sounds like something is starting and stopping. It gets worse the longer the car has been on. Eventually, it sounds like someone is dropping rocks into a bucket of water. I can only hear the sound from the cabin. I can't hear it when I open the hood and the car is on...most likely because the engine is drowning out the sound.

Here is the link for the sound:

You can definitely hear the rhythmic sound every 1.8 seconds. Any ideas? The car barely has 20K miles!

Yes, but the sound is always there I believe. The car is a rare 6 speed manual. The sound is there when it is in neutral, in gear with the clutch down, or driving. It is harder to hear when driving because of the engine and road noise but I can feel the cluncking slightly in the steering wheel so I know it's always there.

Do you hear the noise when the AC is off?

I experienced a similar noise for a few days (only when the AC was on), the day it was due to be inspected by the dealer it miraculously disappeared. The dealer was suspecting it could be the AC water drainage but they couldn't find anything wrong with it.

Give it a few days and it might disappear

Another poster on another forum seems to have hit it dead on. It is an air bubble in the heat exchanger. Probably would exist with the heat or A/C. I turned the fan off and the sound disappeared. That annoying noise has been going on for 4 months. Dealer said it was an intercooler...wrong.

Solution: drain/bleed the fan/heating/cooling circuit. Does anyone know how that is done?
