I swear, some of the posts in this thread are retarded...first it was comparing it to the GTR, now it should be lighter? What were you thinking 3100 lbs?

It's already lighter then the previous gen M6!!!!
2 previous pages Bry pointed out weight data
http://www.6post.com/forums/showpost...;postcount=159

M6 F13 coupe (DIN/EU) - 1850kg / 1925kg
M6 E63 coupe (DIN/EU) - 1710kg / 1785kg

140kg less for M6 E63
I think they pointed this once...with all the stuff and technology they are adding, it will be amazing to maintain the previous weight!

Videos are stunning.

Dare I say this is the best "looking" M-car since the M1?

As much as I like the current M5 I always felt it was still missing something.
The new M6 tweaked front airdam IS that difference.

Hopefully the M5 LCI will get this because it does make a big diff.

Nice. I love the aggressive looks of this new M6 over the old E63.

How is that well said? Just because the GT-R is a Nissan, it can't be compared to a BMW? That's ridiculous. I think the performance of the GT-R speaks for itself.

Don't get me wrong, I love BMW's, but I also appreciate other cars that can perform. How is comparing the M6 to the GT-R retarded? Because the M6 is more luxurious it can't be compared to another performance car, is that it? That's fine that you wouldn't personally buy a GT-R, everyone has their preferences as they should. The thing is, when a car is in a similar range of performance as another, there will always be a legit reason for comparison.

The GT-R is a sportscar designed for the track. Its stiffer, rougher...etc. But it is much faster in terms of handling and acceleration. The M6 is a GT car meant for fast cruising and comfort with better built quality and prestige. Just because they are both roughly in the same price category with two doors doesn't mean they are comparable. Its like comparing a Bentley GT to an F458. It doesn't make any sense. As much as I love the GT-R, it is not THE car to be measured against everything else. Christ.

Yawn, GT-R comparisons AGAIN? You insecure nitwits need to please stop. "it's a Nissan! I would never get one b/c I'm concerned about the badge, blah, blah." I've had an M3, have an M5 and ALSO a GT-R. It's a great car, anyone who says otherwise car can suck it.

I'm definitely going to get this M6. It's definitely a step up from the previous M6. I may wait to get an LCI once it's out since I don't want a first year M car and in previous years, the LCI came out for the M6 in less than three years.

The gentlemen below pretty much answered exactly how I would have. Do you think that Nissan target market for the GT-R is the same as BMW's target market for the M6? If so, you are verrrrry wrong my friend!

The M6 is aimed at the 40+ crowd, while the GT-R is aimed at the 30+ crowd.
Two totally different markets IMO.

Yes, the M6 and GT-R are different types of car both with a very different focus. I didn't say the GT-R is THE car to measure against every other car, nor did I say they should be compared because of their price category. I'm talking strictly in terms of their performance which could be in a similar range.

For example, look at the recent Road & Track article comparing the GT-R, 911 Turbo S, and Veyron. The basis of this comparison was the ability of these three cars to achieve 0-60 times under 3 seconds. Each of these cars have a different focus and are in vastly different price ranges, yet they are still being compared on performance. This is the reason I'm curious why people think the M6 and GT-R can't be compared.

Couldn't say it better. This new M6 is everything that the GT-R isn't, the kind of things that the GT-R doesn't even intend to be, so please no need for pointless comparisons or I am gonna start comparing it with my 1M, after all they probably have more in common

Back to topic: it is one of the best looking M cars, especially the coupe and with that stunning color. Standing out are the roof, aggressive front and quality smelling gorgeous interior (with the slight exception of the sat nav screen maybe, not a fan). Not so standing out is the so-so rear design, doesn't follow the rest of the car and reminds the old M6 which was not really good looking from any angle, more so from the rear. IMO, it might be wiser to wait and see the M Gran Coupe for potential buyers who are not in a hurry.

Goodness I'm sold. I want one now. The pictures were great, but seeing it in action really made that difference to push me over the edge. Beautiful car.
