Traded X6M for M6

Just traded my 2015 X6M, 15k miles for a 2014 M6 Convertible, 7k miles. Frozen Blue Metallic / Black, Competition PKG, Ceramic Brakes, Full Leather, B&O, etc. Pics to follow once I figure out how to resize my photos...

Nice!! That's definitely a unique one.

What did you think of the X6m, most notably, the transmission? I had an m5 lease, but am done with it and thinking about X6m. But wondering if I'll just hate the tranny since it tries to act like a DCT, but it's not.

Thanks!

This is my 10th M car (yes I'm addicted)! I've owned 3 M3's, 4 M5's, 2 M6's and a X6M. If you need the extra space of an SUV the X6M is a great option. My wife has a X5d so we didn't need two SUV's. The transmission and suspension of the X6M are the smoothest of any M car. I added Dinantronics and got the HP up to 702! Very fun SUV that sits up high.

First thing I noticed in the new M6 was how aggressive the DCT shifts were (I always drive in sport plus even as a daily driver). I missed that feeling along with the lower driving position which is why I'm back in a M6.

Good luck in your decision...

Thanks! Us Atlanta guys have access to a great inventory of pre-owned cars at significant price reductions over MSRP.

FYI, We're also both Miami guys! I'm a Redhawk (OH) and you're a Hurricane (FL).

Cheers

Yep - there's a fairly good selection in the area but I ended up going all the way to Scottsdale to buy the one I wanted

Will keep my eyes out for you around town - take care.

I know right? BMW Roswell & Gwinnett always have a solid selection of M vehicles but every time I come across one that I like, it just happens to be an EX Performance Center Car -- and not CPO'able. They're usually heavily discounted against other similarly spec'd class vehicles in the market but I always run the opposite direction knowing that the vehicle has been thrown around aggressively.

Any other good dealers in the area? Greenville has slim pickings :/

I went outside the Atlanta area for my prior BMW - got a great deal on a CPO 650i a few years back at Century in Greenville/Spartanburg area near the factory and performance center.

I also use Global BMW and Select Luxury Auto for preowned quality BMW's.

Your point on performance center (PC) cars is accurate. I test drove an M5 from United BMW in Gwinnett. Pushed the M2 button and the car was more responsive than other M5 I've driven. Tapped the gas around a corner and did a power slide! Salesman was white as a ghost and then told me this was a PC car. I said, thanks for the test drive but I'll pass on this one...

Yeah - good call on passing on the PC vehicle. Global did allot of my servicing since I live up the I-75 corridor and they were good. Just couldn't get them down to good enough deals on purchases.

Hey! I too have a frozen M6 (mine is white). Congrats.

I almost did the opposite of you. I got an M6 last year and was in a major accident so when I went car shopping after... almost got a X6M. I went all the way down to the last signature then turned away. 2 weeks later I got another M6 to replace the first one.

I'm only in my first month with the second M6 so I still wonder if I made the right choice. I'm sure I just need to get out and have some fun and I'll reassure myself that I did. Haha

Enjoy your new ride!
