Interesting, it's got 10% more torque, but less horsepower, and tops out at ~6200RPM, whereas the M6 is supposed to get 560HP between 6000-7000 RPM (although the only actual dyno I could find stopped at ~6200 as well, but there are M5 dynos that go all the way). They're both just tuned for their target markets, I suppose.

Plus, on a relaxing Sunday drive with the family, I prefer the Alpina's exclusivity, and nicer interior
For sure the AWD will have the better launch but I don't think this Alpina can beat M6 anyways. I know BMW website claims 0-100km/h in 4.2 sec for M6 but I'm sure people can get better number (I got 3.8 with launch control). on the other hand the M6 is really a fun car specially at curves while the AWD cannot have that much fun. Beside these M6 has so many advantage such as DCT, beautiful instrument cluster, aggressive front bumper, steering wheels and even wheels and beautiful CF roof (just my opinion). But you are right about snow!

Sweet Alpina

this is awesome... I think those people buying Audi RS7 will be quiet now and stop bragging about their 0-60 times

I would not buy a M5 or any 7 series model after looking at the 6 series models, period.

Maybe I'm a weirdo but Alpina never looked good to me.
They have crude and old profile lines with 90's cue. It is totally opposite of BMW's current trend of going streamline design.
But still I find these looking better than ACS.

If you don't get it, then you just don't get it.
I think it's either a love or hate thing.

M6 is more track oriented, "usable" power comes in at a higher RPMs relatively.
B6 on the other hand is more focus on daily drivings thus more "usable" power on a daily basis, I think that's why B6 has more torque.

It's perfect for both worlds.
really awesome, but the performance figures are not so impressive.
regular 650xdrive with BMS tune can output around 510HP & 520-530 tq.
0 to 60 almost 4.0 sec flat.

But, the alpina badge is the best, for me it's better than an M badge.
wonder what will be the price in Canada.

It's not too difficult to fathom the introduction of the Alpina B6 Gran Coupe to the North American market as the only model available in the US the Alpina B7 just has over twelve months left in its lifecycle prior to the launch of the all new G11 7er in June 2015.
Such a replacement would not be available for the B7 until mid-late 2016 or early 2017.

I really do not see too many 6-Series owners, be it an Alpina B6 or an M6, wanting to toss their cars around the track as if they were driving an M3 or a 911. In my opinion, the Alpina B6 has a road character that is very special and screams exclusivity while the M6 has a few extra ounces of performance that most owners will never utilize.
Agreed. Thats why I got a 640i.
