F12 Springs

I apologize in advance, but I searched and could not find anything.

What is the deal with springs for the F12 convertible? I was all set to get the set from Dinan, but Dinan told me that although they would fit, they were designed for the coupe which is lighter in the rear so the rear would sit lower.

So my question is, What have others done? Is the difference not enough to matter?

I currently have the stock M Sport 20" rims, but I would I have my eye on the Dinan 20" rims with 295/35 rubber.

It's only 300lb difference, not a big deal. If I were you, I'd get K&W HAS or V3 (V3 would be my choice - assuming you don't have xDrive)). There's more adjust-ability.

Thanks!

I was going to stay away from replacing the shocks because I want to keep the ability to adjust them while driving. In Massachusetts there are plenty of bad roads and it can help to soften it up. These bad roads and the unavoidable steep driveways are why I am a little afraid to go any lower than the Dinan's mild drop. I had a lowered cars years ago with a chin spoiler and it was a pain.

Look into K&W HAS. It will retain your OEM EDC struts, while allowing you to adjust the height to your taste. Dinan is saying the added weight may change their ride height spec, so HAS allow you to set the height how you want it.

@murph914 , unfortunately KW doesn't have HAS system for the non M cars currently.
I would say do Dinan. The 300lbs extra weight to the back only apply when you open the top.
And it will looks like you have 2 teenager passenger in the rear.
The other option, as JNoSol mentioned, would be a coilover.
I removed my EDC to a coilover, trust me, you don't miss much.
The KW Variant 1 or Variant 2 would be sufficient enough for your needs.
I personally wouldn't do Variant 3 unless I really want to track the car and fine tune the suspension to my liking.
But when I decided to do that, I most likely will pull a trigger to a real track suspension, such as; ohlins or JRZ.

I just noticed the HAS was for the M6 only. I don't see the V1 or V2 for the 650i, just V3. Agree with you that with good coilovers, you don't need EDC. My M3 didn't have EDC, it was super comfy for long road trips.

OMG, that is true, only V3 available. Rip off.

You can go your route, using V2 from an F10. V3 is overkill for a street car.

I just got the shockware installed and its amazing. In full sport it is board flat in corners and yet can still be dialed back for nasty areas. With the limited options available I think I am going to have the Dinan shocks and bump stops installed next time it's in for something.

My biggest worry is that I get the shocks then I get wider wheels and it rubs, bu from what I have read it should be fine unless I decide to move a brick wall in the trunk.
