Pulled out a 5 series grille also. On the 6 its not the same. I tried many times, with gloves, no gloves, hot weather, cold weather...it wasn't happening.

Switched out the stock grilles on my 650 with the gloss black double slat ///M6 style (without the logo of course). Install was a little more challenging because the night vision module is attached to the grill. Wasn't too difficult to figure out and Dannym's instructions for the grill removal were very helpful. Here are a couple quick pics from the phone. Sorry, pic quality isn't that great.

Bumping this thread. Curious to see if there is a video or pics that show all of the screws to remove, etc.
Thanks! |

I went the safe route...hacksaw. Honestly. If you don't care about saving the original grille, it is much easier to just cut the slats out, and then you can reach in to press the tabs to remove the grille. I call it the "safe route", because you destroy the grille to eliminate the chance of messing up the car.

As unsettling as the noise may sound when pulling the grill, it worked.
However, my M6 GC has night vision so I had to swap out the grill inner insert, paint it gloss black, to accommodate the night vision, and just use new gloss black grill's outer kidney rim. Just 2 extra steps no biggie. Turner Motorsport wants $470 after tax... https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...RoC8uAQAvD_BwE I spent $35 + whatever black spray paint I buy at Lowe's later... LOL Best yet, I get to keep my M6 emblem. Last edited by drbenny1976; 02-12-2020 at 05:57 PM.. |

When you lift the hood...there's a protective (rubber) cover that is easily pulled up/off to reveal the four push pins & four of the six T30 (torx) scews. To remove the push pins...pull up on the pin and that releases the compression & allows it to come out easily. Then undo the T30 screws and this allows you to pull the front bumper cover forward to access the clips that hold the top & side of the grilles. From there decide the methods mentioned to get the grilles out from the clips on the bottom. Last edited by Qsilver7; 02-13-2020 at 10:41 AM.. |
