So if taking that $30k will sell you the car, tell them you will but it right now for that $30k off.
I know locally I saw new 2014 coupes for $20k off, not sure how close you can get to that $30k mark, but with them holding it for 1.5 years, I would think they would be in a dealing mood. They want to sell for as much as they can, and they KNOW you want the car. Tell em your still lookin. It's the art of the deal |

I'd walk from this.....$18k on a car sitting for a year and a half? It will continue to sit....as dealers were offering much more off for cars sitting there half that long.

Whatever you do- as mentioned, don't seem too eager or interested. Casually bring up "meh...knock it down 30k and I'll take it off your hands right now"

That's what my wife and I always do. If the salesperson or the sales manager does not run out to the car before you leave or call you back within a week, then you know they just don't want to sell the car at the offered price at that time, and you can up your offer or try a different strategy. If you leave them your contact info, they may call you at a future date if and when they get more flexible.
We live by the old saying of never doing a deal you are not willing to walk away from. Otherwise, you are too emotionally involved and are setting yourself up to get hosed by add-ons or lousy financing terms. |

Final price is $98k and some change. I do not know much about them as I was a Mercedes man until about a month ago. I do like the car though. That DCT is on point. Hope I didn't overpay.

Update: So I pulled the old switch on them. Change the trade after getting the price on their car. So I purchased a 2015 M3 1 week ago that stickers for $78k (I paid $75700 net). They are offering me 1 week later $67k. I know I overpaid for the car. The sales guy spent the day with me and I am in sales so I appreciated that and I am in a very fortunate position in life so I said make some money sales guy. I am not feeling generous anymore.
Is this car worth paying $98k + the $8700 test drive lol or am I better off keeping the M3 until the new M6 comes out and hope the new M6 goes on a diet and adds all wheel drive like most of the AMG's. |

As far as next generation, I have no idea how much diet you are looking for, but if you are looking for an AWD M6 with less than 4000lb weight, I would say it never happens...

Lol, I like the big booty girl too... I test drove all of the M's there save the M4 as I did not like the styling as much as I did the M3. I actually liked the M6 the most, but she caught a nail on the way in and went to service. The best price at the time was $113k for the M6 and they wouldn't budge which to me was way overpriced so I bought the M3. They called me 3 days later and offered the M6 at $98390. I like the M3 driving around town but I just came out of a supercharged C7 and I have a SL 550. So I like the V8 growl.

You are probably right on both counts. I already have the tuner for the M3 at home waiting for the 1200 miles service, lol.

In the m6-You don't "feel" everything as you would in an M3. Most of my friends are shocked when we're going 100 in mine because it seriously feels like we're going 65. And as you know- it's a massive car, coupe, cabrio or GC. It's just two total different beasts. Personally- I'm with you on the m4 design. However I did go in to test drive one when shopping for a second M6, and it just felt...meh. So I opted to put in an order for a 16 coupe. What I would do, is trade the m3 in a heart beat- not because it's a bad car by any means- but once you get used to an M6, there's really no going back. The power is insane, people constantly marvel at the vehicle, it's just an awesome awesome car.
