Turning Her In

I am turning her in on Monday, might be the first car I actually miss.

I am using the 6 month pull ahead and picking up an x5 for my wife. But doing an ED on another 6 series in September. I guess I won't miss this car for long...

Wow, that is one interesting color combo! Looks very executive.

What color combination are you going to go with on the new 6?

Blue exterior, for now I have the same interior ordered, but might change it to opal white and black. can't decide.

Please let me know how the pull ahead program works.

Did you have to buy new tires for the turn in?

Are you being held responsible for any percentage of the risiduals?

When did you place your new build order? Did you have to wait to be within the 6 month window before you placed your build order?

I am actually QUITE ready to turn in my currently leased GC, and very much looking forward to submitting my build order for my next BMW, but I think I may have to wait a few more months because my lease is not over until February 2016.

Wow that white leather looks stunning.

You'll be back in the 6er family in no time AND in upgraded model

But what a beauty.

I placed the x5 order a couple months ago, it arrived mid may, but I couldn't use my pull ahead until June. So I waited until June to pick it up.

For right now the pull ahead program doesn't allow leases that end in 2016, but I have heard of BMW making an exception. I would talk to your dealer to see if he can get bmw to make an exception.

That being said, I think you were looking at getting into an x6 right? The normal x6 only takes about a month to arrive so you would still have to wait to place that order. But the x6m is taking much longer, so if you go that route, you might want to place an order for one soon.

Thanks.

I keep going back and forth about cancelling that order, although I finally got an ED date of September 5th yesterday. It took over a month just to get a date.

I have a year left on a grand Cherokee lease. I need another suv for the family, but instead of getting another 6 then getting another grand cherokee or similar when that lease is up. I am thinking of just getting rid of the Grand cherokee now, getting an x6m or x5m and cancelling the 6 order.

My thoughts keep changing every hour, so who knows. I have real commitment issues if I can't even commit to a car for three years...

You know I'm biased and would suggest keeping the alpina ED order in- especially if you're doing frozen blue (looks so good)
But at least you have very nice options to chose from!

But you know- if you do the alpina frozen blue....you'll be the only one with it this side of the pond. Only one.

Think about it

Regardless, not a bad place to be in!

The more I think about it, turning in the jeep doesn't work. I need a more ordinary car to go to some work meetings and for other aspects in life. I can't always show up in a high end BMW.

So if I need to have a jeep or similar either way, I might as well go with the 6 series.

So in that case...Back on track for September 5th ED!!

Thanks for the info and sharing your experience. It helps a lot.

Enjoy your new toys! I'm sure you are going to enjoy the ED in a few months. Looking forward to pics because you have great taste in cars.
