Need guidance on tune and down pipes

I have a 2014 650i F06 and I'm looking to do either of the the following:

1) just a ODBii tune
2) tune plus down pipes.

I've heard the engine/exhaust sound with #2 is great which is why I'm considering. Otherwise a little extra punch and responsiness would be great.

I need some guidance as I've read about mission tuning and BPM but I don't know which is best. I work a ton and don't really have a go to person for installing down pipes (not even sure who I would go to) so just looking for something easier.

Budget is $1500-2k

What are some good experiences some of the members have had?

I highly recommend you check out Halim's HCP tune. He unlocks and tunes remotely via OBD2 now (using software called Bootmod3).

cant go wrong with mission or BPM. I would not use Bootmod 3 and their tuners, some of whom I'm sure are legit and some who are guys on the street. The biggest concern you should have isn't which tune results in the most power, but which tuner will provide the best support if something goes wrong. Both Mission and BPM have great reputations for their support.

Downpipe and tune will run you more like 3K than 2 K, but is a great option - all the benefit of a tune with more power and more sound. If you are worried about the gas smell, go with hi flow cats. If you are going to keep the car for an extended period of time, buy a really good set of downpipes with ceramic coating.

If you are in Tampa, i am sure there is a good tuning shop for European cars nearby - ask around.

whats wrong with bootmod3? Cary has multiple cars in the 10sec bracket. Stock system. Also f80 paul has couple too. Ive contacted Mission on multiple occasions in my early stages of modding to no avail. Think there is a couple other posts as well about them. You also have Kevin from Precison Tuning who is on BM3 and made 413hp on an n55 stock PWG turbo.

Multiple threads on here with very bad experiences/bricked cars with bm3. If you had a bad customer service experience with mission, you are in a distinct minority. I found them to be very responsive - they advise to call rather than email due to the volume of email they get - maybe that was your problem.

It is also important to note that an expert on tuning the I6 is not necessarily an expert on tuning the N and S 63 motor. The tuner's work and expertise also has to line up with goals of the car owner. If the owner of a 650 is looking for a reliable tune for a hundred extra horses on his daily driver, then he doesn't want a tuner who specializes in 10 second 6 cylinder cars.
