So I'm lookingt to buy a 2006 Bmw m6 , does anyone have any advice on what to look for when buying other than the usual stuff. And also does anyone know if the engine had to be out to fit new headers ? And one gone stage 2 remap ?

IMO a waste of time and money.. Get a twin turbo 650 and enjoy a newer car with more power and a lot more torque! A stock E63 M6 is making under 400whp and takes a lot of effort and money to get to the N63TU numbers, throw a BMS tune in the N63TU for $600 and you're pushing around 480whp. Just makes more sense.

if its over 50k miles check if the clutch. most are worn out by 50k. then get a evolve remap or DMS remap on it. change the exhaust to your preference. then enter a tunnel with windows down, floor it and enjoy.

It's the engine with the twins that make it sound so good, even with a muffler & resonator delete, coupled with downpipes, you have a screamin demon! With a BMS tune you're pushing over 520wtq! I don't even want to get into the maintenance costs or if anything goes wrong with that V10 in the old M's.. You'd be

Ouch!! Exactly what I'm talking about! Just that clutch is 25% of the cost of my entire lease for 36 months on the 650! That's the reason I stay away from those used Gallardo's that are under $90k now.. It might be awesome to be able to drive a Lambo for a couple to a few years and sell it without much of a loss with those prices, but if you get caught up in a bad maintenance situation, you could be shelling out up to and over $30k cash easy!

Not just about cost, but it's an older model now too, in the F13 650 at least you have the newest 6 series body style for now. The same thing pertains to any used car, AMG as well are all hand built motors that when they have an issue you're going to be over $10k in for service charges. This is a big reason as to why people lease these cars new now, the money makes sense here in the states and we are covered by warranty for the term.

Again, it's a gamble. Most people don't sell cars that are running perfect, they tend to keep them. Aside from that you will probably have more luck in a forum specifically for those cars, you are in a F12/13 6 series forum..
