Is your speedometer off too?

I have a 2014 GC and my speedometer is off a solid 4-5 mph at any speed over 45. I brought this up to my SA and before I could even finish my sentence he stated "they're built like that from the factory. We have people come in and ask all the time." I haven't had the time to test it but I'm pretty sure the odometer is off as well. If so I beleive this can be a big issue. I'll post updates if anyone is interested. After I design an accurate test. Also saw a coding option witch was titled "show actual speed and not corrected speed". So I'm not sure if this solves the issue. Any input is greatly appreciated

Yeah, I'd say the last time I checked mine it was about 4-5 mph out too. I checked against a TomTom sat nav on an open stretch of pretty flat motorway, running cruise control for several miles. Under-inflated and/or worn tyres will exacerbate the problem slightly as well.

Same for me - display shows 4 mph over correct gps/Waze speed. Not a problem as I usually forget, so it helps keep me a little closer to the speed limit.

Change to 275/35r20 and 305/30r20 and you'll get a little bit closer

Yep - that's the plan on the next set of Michelins.

Yeah I'm picking up 305's tomorrow. Are you guys not concerned about odometer being off? If the car consistently says you're going faster then you are then from my understanding the vehicle will have more odometer miles then it is actually supposed to.

It is a percentage thing so it will only be 4-5 at highway speeds. It is increases as you go faster.

By law, Speedometer must show "no less than actual speed".
Having said that, there are many people seen 165-170 mph on speedometer while the maximum speed of our cars is electronically limited to 155 mph...
