Extended Warranty prices?

I am looking at extended warranty plans for my 14 M6 GC. Was quoted 7yr/100k gold which covers mostly everything except nav and radio for 5999 and he stated there was some wiggle room. Is this on par? Maintainance packages can add another 3-5k he wouldn't let me write down any numbers and I couldn't remember them all

Its really a 3/100k warranty. How many miles do you have now and how many do you do in a year? Will you keep car 3 years longer?

I went with a 2/70 platinum for $5200. Purchased in Maryland, they gave me a $250 discount off msrp and Maryland does not charge sales tax on extended warranties. I saved $560 versus my local Florida dealer.

Being someone that works in the industry I recommend calling around to a few places ask to speak to finance, let them know you just want to buy a warrantee give them your vehicle info and ask them to give you a more competitive price.
A good finance manager from a different dealer will realize that giving you a good competitive price will be beneficial to him/her.

Many dealers sell the BMW warranty and a third party warranty (mine tried to sell me a Zurich policy). Just make sure what you are getting. Also, try USAA.

Also a '14 M6 GC here. For what it's worth, I will share mine.

Last week I bought a 4-year/60,000-mile exclusionary warranty (both starting from the date of purchase and odometer reading at the time) from National Warranty Corporation based in Oregon. I heard good things about them from other BMW owners in Oregon and Washington. It was $3,900 plus 10% sales tax so $4,290 total.

BMW dealership offered me Platinum 6/100 for $6,239 or 7/100 for $7,629. Important note - I thought it was 6 or 7 years from the date purchase, but reading mjposner's post above (second from the top), I think I just realized it would have covered only for another 2 or 3 years once the 4-year factory warranty ran out. Maybe I'm understanding that wrong.

But yes, definitely call around and compare. Good luck!

Pure Adrenaline, good luck, I tried a 3rd party warranty for my wife's porsche and the took forever to decide and then declined coverage so I cancelled.

Since the 6/100 is only 2 extra years, to save $1,000 I went 6/70 (I would never hit 70k miles by the end of the warranty, at this pace (50k now, 13 months left, I should have sprung for the 7/70).

You should have bought from a dealer in a state with no sales tax!

Yeah, we will see. I know the risk, but there is a pretty large BMW group in the Pacific Northwest and many people recommended National. Time will tell.

Interestingly enough, my wife's Range Rover Sport has never needed its extended warranty. *knock on wood* But it has been good for peace of mind.
