4 Weeks later...
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I find myself taking the 'very-long-way' to and from work. Puts a smile on my face every time I jump-in behind the wheel and put the top down. In the 0-60 runs I've logged so far, I've been consistently hitting about 3.8 seconds (GTech-Pro). Insane speeds for the heaviest of all the M cars. I have the Akrapovič Evolution Line (Titanium) ordered, from a dealer in San Diego, and can't wait to hear the difference in the exhaust note. Also waiting on the painted reflectors from iND. For all you guys waiting on your new baby, the wait is SO worth it.

You didn't forget about the 1200 mile service, did you? My dealer kept on reminding me to come in before it hit 1200 miles. I'm also at 1800 miles and 2.5 months of ownership. Love the car!

Looking good Sandman. My saga is finally complete. After waiting for it for nearly 4 weeks as it sat at the port, it finally came in. I here you! Truly amazing power. The color combo that I was nervous about, singapore grey with sikhir orange interior is really cool. I know everyone is going to say worthless without pics. I will get some up this weekend!

I'm curious about the "1200 Mile Break-in Service" you mentioned. I took delivery of a 2013 X6-M this last spring and I was assured there was absolutely NO service required until about 15K miles. (I had the dealership do an "early" oil change at my expense at 1200 miles anyway just to get the factory oil out). So if the X6-M and the M6 both have the same engine, is there really a 1200 mile scheduled service for the M6 (but not the X6M)? I also have read that the M5 also has a 1200 mile initial service requirement, so I find this curious... I see no links on the BMW web site for the 2013 M6 owners manuals, so I am asking where this information can be found.... What exactly gets done at the 1200 mile service? |

The 1200 break-in is where they changed engine and transmission fluids. The 2500 mile one is happening for me this week. Both of these service intervals are indeed counted down by the iDrive and will notify you. I'll report back once the 2500 one is complete.

We can offer a gloss black set with the "M6" removed.

Hey Sandman. I live in SD and have a F10 M5 inbound in a few weeks. I'd really love to hear that Akropovic in person...LMK if I can buy you a cup of coffee and check it out sometime.
Cheers and congrats!

Sounds good. Akra should be releasing the F12 system sometime on Oct.
