Difference between the main screen of 2015 and 2016

Today I sat in the 2016 model 650 and I noticed that the screen looks quite different both in design and perhaps a bit more high resolution than mine which 2015 model. Is that the case?

The most recent LCI was in 2015 so, AFAIK, there wouldn't have been any changes since then.
The current car comes with 'Full Black Panel' display and I think it's customisable, so that could be the difference you're seeing.

The LCI did change the sat nav screen. It's cosmetic update and removes the silver trim and matt black surround. It gives a sense of a wider screen but it's still the same actual screen.

I am pretty sure all 6er's are now getting iDrive 5.0 too.

Sorry my mistake, I thought you were referring to the instrument panel (you did say screen).
Yes the display screen was changed in 2015, as well as the software to give automatic updates and real-time traffic info, but I don't think there have been any changes in the past year.

Does anyone know if possible to change the trim around the idrive screen from pre lci to the LCI version? My friend scratched my screen unfortunately and i feel the lci screen (cover) would look nicer and hopefully hide the scratches
