Booked mine in for christmas. Im told the results are like a totally different car. Im looking at 70-95bhp & 100-150nm gained. That is a custom map and rolling road in kent at a top company. Priced £350 remap £80rolling road before and after.. Thats heavily discounted too

The car is managed in the same way i.e different modes change the setup of the way the car performs and handles. All it does mean is heaps more torque and power on tap and hopefully 5-10% fuel saving.

640m have you experienced a remapped 640d yourself,it will be interesting to read your comments after the remapping is done.I have done some cosmetic mods such as black carbonfibre roof wrap with gloss black rails and wing-mirrors,factory 20" in dark shadow chrome painted last week. She's looking well but needs lowered too, great car best I have owned.I had a z4M coupe in blue a few years back and that wasn't bad either.

Any pictures ?

I got a steal on ebay h&r springs. Im in for warrenty work next week so once a few bits are sorted i will be lowering and putting spacers back on. Ive ordered a rear "V" spoiler and will be getting the roof sprayed as for me its the same price as wrapping. Also interested in getting my wheels done gloss grey and getting the rear m6 diffuser added.

For me, amazing car... Only thing that lets it down are the brakes, they arn't good enough for such a powerful heavy car

I did mine a few months ago and recently removed it, because I needed to visit the dealer. That's really the point when you notice the difference between normal and remapped.

There are a few options when remapping. My tuner writes his own program and I was able to chose between a normal tune or the extreme one. I did the normal one and have about 360 Hp and 680Nm.

The difference is really noticeable. Especially the torque in the midrange. I also clocked my car between 100-200 kmh before and after (IPhone vide) and it's about 2 sec. faster.

This is my 3th BMW that I have remapped (320d, 535d) and I love it. Beware of cracks in the turbo hoses, because I had mine replaced three times on the 535.

If you are aware of driving your engine warm first and let it cool down after a long trip, or giving it some gas I say: go for it

Who did you go with for the remap in the end 640m? I've just part ex'd my 330d for a 640d so I may get that done next year.

chaps I'm booked in for the NY for mine, great deal on a remap off a company that tunes bugatti, ferrari, mclaren ... also insured against any comebacks resulting from the remap.

figured are from 370-400bhp with 100-150nmt .. engine would be rolling roaded to see along with diagnostics to make sure nothing is wrong with the car.

through a supercar owner friend who writes the maps for the most expenses cars in the world he offered me 350 for the map and 80 for rolling road before and after the tune. they also offer upgraded gearbox settings (remap) which is meant to be fantastic

What company is it? Yeah the gearbox Remaps are really good I've heard. But I wasn't sure if they could improve ours my much. The old 6 speed auto was transformed by a remap.
If the gear box is 700nm safe then if u go that high on the torque it could be dodgy. I don't know if the 640d is the same box as the 330/335d box which is 700nm

I'm told its good for 700-750. anything over that is going to cause problems drive chain wise..

I'm after mpg but will be looking for 700nm and 380bhp.
