what would ours do if 4 wheel drive?

I never cease to marvel at how fast my stock M6 is but I have to wonder how much faster it would be if it was 4 wheel drive. Half a second? Is that outrageous? I have soooo much wheel spin in first and second I have to think it would be a huge difference no?

I think it would be off the charts fast. Yes, all wheel drive will add weight as well, but I think it would be worth it.

To answer your question, yes, it would make a VERY big difference.

I do, however, think it would also introduce some small negative handling qualities.

I do like the tail-happy nature of my car.

Tuned Audi RS7 did 10.6 1/4, I'd imagine M6 to be like that, or even faster!

I don't think that much difference. According to BMW USA 650i convertible weigh 4520 lb and does 0-60 is 4.5 second, however 650i Xdrive convertible weigh 4650 and does 0-60 in 4.4 second means 0.1 second faster. Now if we follow the same analogy, and consider 130 lb for Xdrive then M6 Convertible Xdrive will be around 4640 lb and cannot be much faster than M6. If you read the competitors specifications, such as E63 S 4matic, CLS63 S 4matic , RS7 Quattro, they all do 0-60 in around 3.4 second however they are more than 200 lb lighter than M6 convertible (AWD if exist) and have more torque.
BTW according to motor trend, your car can reach 0-60 mph in 3.9 second and this number for a big and heavy 4500 lb, RWD car is fantastic!

The new 2015 Alpina B6 Xdrive has 540 HP and 538 TQ. This article seems to suggest it will do at least a 3.5 second 0-60. There hasn't been an instrumented test yet that I have seen, so most every article is conjecture, currently. But, if you want an AWD M6, this is pretty much it....

IMO

RWD = lots of fun. See the experience as a whole one. Quarter mile is just a small part, driving through your very special mountain open road, that is the real ticket.

Look at the numbers for the b6 to get an idea. It gets to 60 in the low threes. BMW quotes 3.6 but Euro magazines say 3.3 with xdrive.
