I think this looks better than the CLS and would buy this even if it cost more.

Good job BMW.

??? What are you folks talking about re: the price of the 6er?

All the MB comparable coupes start at over $100K.

The CLS, despite the marketing, is a sedan, albeit a swoopy one....Personally, I think MB call it the CLS because it's a CL Sedan.

This has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. The 6 is based on the 5 series, not the 7. The CLS is based on the E. The CL is based on S. Its silly that the 6 is as expensive as the 750. The CLS is 18K cheaper than the comparable S. Also, the 6 will have a 4 door body style in a year. I GUARANTEE is will slot between the 6 coupe and cab

I don't care what chassis they base it on. The CLS, nor the CL, is not targeted to the E customer any more than the 6 is targeted to the 5 customer. The CL and the 6 have the same target market, and even if they don't, there are closer customer profiles between 6 customers and CL customers than between 6 customers and CLS customers. Who, looking for a luxury/sporty coupe is going to consider a four door CLS?

Maybe you should look at the #s sold CLS vs the 6 for the old body style. Despite what you say, people who can afford a CLS need not necessarily cross shop for a CL but they would consider the 6.

Also countering your argument, the 6 has nothing on the CL, and a person who is looking at the CL would most likely be looking at the Maserati GT/ Bentley Continental, definitely not a 6 series.
