Question How to store for 6 weeks

I'm going to be traveling for ~6+ weeks and I wasn't sure what, if anything, I should do for the car. She'll be parked in a nice dry garage.

Should I put her on a battery tender? If so, where do I hook that up, the jump start contacts, or?

I'm assuming that's too short a time to worry about fuel stabilizers.

Anything else I should think about?

Thanks!

When I store Princess ... I just hook up the "BMW Trickle charger" to the the battery terminals in the trunk ... she is usually hooked up for 4 to 5 months ... not an issue. You can nearly shut the trunk on the electrical cord.

Thanks! Is this the charger you have? http://smile.amazon.com/BMW-advanced...dp/B00N55PDUY/

I found this, supposedly from BMW:

""On vehicles with IBS, recharging the battery directly at the battery terminals could lead to a misinterpretation of the battery condition and even unwanted Check-Control messages or fault memory entries.

If the battery is recharged while installed, it must be recharged using the jump-starting points...in the engine compartment.
Only then can you be sure that the recharging is correctly recognized by the vehicle electronics on vehicles with intelligent battery sensor (IBS)""

So sounds like under the hood is recommend?

No, it doesn't look like that one ... I did purchase it directly from my BMW dealer and has a BMW Logo on it ... and they recommended that it be hooked up in the trunk ... I have done so with no issues on this M6 and my last M6.

See what your dealer has for chargers and their recommendations.

Both locations sound good ... but go with the best info your dealer can provide as they will be the ones dealing with any warranty issues.

If you have a trickle charger, connect it ito the batery ports located in the engine bay. Look for the red terminal on the upper left hand corner (+) and the metal sticking out near the fender (-)

If it's just 6 weeks then I don't think you need to do anything. But if more then probably should hook it up.
