Trunk contents depends on location.
In the US just minimal basic tool kit (towing eye hook)
Elsewhere, reflector triangle, first aid kit, etc.

Options clarification

Hi,

I have a couple of questions hopefully someone can shed some light.
- Is there suppose to be another USB in the Glovebox, the reason I ask is when I opened the glovebox by the light I noticed a square hole that's empty.

- Also I have the front collision and pedestrian warning options and I was wondering do these options actually automatically apply the brakes or just give a warning. I know there are cars out there that will apply the brakes e.g.: Nissan Altima, etc.

- I have a button in the trunk but the trunk doesn't close when I press it. Is there a way I can use that button to close the trunk (coding or install hardware or both)

Appreciate any clarification on these

Thanks

Small tool kit was the only thing in my car, no first aid.
- I don't think there's a USB in the glovebox. My car only has 1 in the center console. There is, however, another lighter outlet underneath the glovebox. My car was missing the plastic plug so I had to buy one.
- Not sure about the collision/warning because I don't have that option.
- There is no possible way to automatically close the trunk, even with coding. This is the first BMW I've owned where I had to manually close the trunk. The button is just to lock/unlock the doors when you're using your trunk.
- It also surprised me how little storage this car has. My past BMW's have had a compartment on the left side, below the light switch, to store my sunglasses, etc. My wife's X5 has that and a glass storage above the rearview mirror. I don't even know where to store the owner's manual in this car. Other than those minor quirks, I love it.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know I had an outer lighter plug under the glovebox, I am also missing the plug by any chance can you share the part number.
I agree I love the car but they can do better having more storage room.

Initially, I went to my dealership for the plugs and they wanted $17 per plug.....crazy.
I bought these from amazon but also found these on ebay for far less. If you only need 1 then not a huge price difference from stealership but I needed a few because my wife's X5 had missing plugs also.

Below are the options of my car. I was trying to understand what I have and what can I add by coding. I added 6NS and trying to see if I can wire a second USB to the glove box, I read other forums who have done this but found nothing on an F06......also wanted to add the second microphone but trying to find information on how and what parts are needed.
I also noticed option S8S4 and was wondering if I can enable the feature by coding. I read different threads and some say it works other says it doesnt.
Any insight if it will work for my car based on the options I have.

An option I wish I had was the ACC Stop&Go....may be it will be stg to retrofit in the future if it is feasible.....

So I'm basing what I'm saying on my 2013 650ix. The slot in the glove compartment is indeed a USB connection. The car's entertainment/navigation system has a hard drive and you input data (music/nav updates) through that USB connection only.

At least that's what the manual I got with my car says. Now the on-line manual below that is suppose to be for my car says to use the USB connection in the center console. Now I'm confused. I've inputted both music and nav updates through the USB connection in the glove box.

I have the cable and the USB to retrofit in the glove box . Just waiting for it to stop snowing.......
Also waiting for the microphone as I coded 6NS and wanted to add the second microphone. Trying to figure what I need to remove to get the wiring for the second mic from the rear of the NBA to the passenger side headliner

If it is not a hassle when you get a chance can you send me a picture of where the USB in the glovebox is located

Thank you

That's where it is and it's clearly marked on mine as a USB connection.

Thank you...I have an empty hole there so perfect.....I can now add the usb....I tried to fit but it was hard and I was worried maybe it's the wrong location but it's just a snug fit
