I installed the Racechip Ultimate today and I got the CEL.

What can be done to bypass it?

What setting is on the RaceChip?
Also what car was it on before?
Do you have picture of the installation?

To be 100% honest with you, I have no idea what setting it's on or what car it was on before. I can email you a picture.

As suspected, common mistake in installing RaceChip.
You don't use the MAF, instead you are using the TMAP sensor by the intercooler in the front. One on each side.
Where you got it plugged in are MAF sensors.

So basically, I'm not getting any gains at all?

Not to where you are having it installed to.

You need to connect it to the TMAP sensors.

I appreciate it, I had someone install it for me at a local mechanic shop. I'll have them install it correctly later today.

Learn something new everyday.

Why?
Simply because I know of no one in these forums who is currently using that tune and it must be for a good reason. I also can't seem to find any relevant information as to this "Racechip" having been developed and/or tested specifically for these engines. Most people run the JB4 or the Dinan (which I think is overpriced and too conservative). So the way I see it tried and tested is the way to go.

There are actually people on the 5post forum using the racechip, before purchase I actually did some research and found some helpful information on the 5 series forum. There are people currently running it on their 5 series and a few have provided dynos.

Still don't see the point in taking a gamble with that platform when Burger Tuning has been pumping out robust and reliable tunes that provide massive gains for so long. I ran their tune on my M6 for 17 months. Only issues I ran into with that tune were pretty much ones I set myself up for (wrong boost setting for pump gas, too many pulls in a short period of time, etc.) but my car never had any real issue with the tune. I strongly recommend it as I used it and all my other friends with BMWs have too but to each their own I guess.

What are the massive gains?
My car was pushing 593.42 whp and 577.02 wtq on pump gas with the tune set to +3lbs of boost. Stock dyno had shown 539.91 whp and 509.06 wtq earlier the same day. That's just my car with no crazy mods and the Burger Tuning piggyback. My friend's M5 with FBO and JB4 + Meth made an Aventador look as slow as a Passat. Not sure what the gains would be on a 650 but I'd expect it to be quite a jump over stock too.

I'll have to grab me a BMS as well and dyno my car on both.
