Just ordered mine. Got express shipping, hopefully it will be here by Monday. The tech at the dealer told me he wouldn't do it without approval by the shop owner. I told him not to mention it. I'll be installing it myself.

Again, very easy. You need the program harness which is inexpensive to purchase from Burger Motorsport.
In 20 min you can install the harness and change the file and will turn your car into a pure BEAST !!!

Take it to a performance shop save the trouble. The problem is if dealer spots it they can void warranty on the spot...Im sure all they'd need to do is look at fault codes and they'd know then find it.

I think BMS sells you a code clearer for an additional like $50-75 or something like that, no?

I checked the N63/S63 category specifically on the site and I do not see the option, after looking around further I see they have a couple and they are very model specific, so no dice there. I would assume the demand may not be there for them to get that figured out and BMW keeps getting sneakier with their software.

Mine shipped out this morning. Will be here by Sunday @ 3pm. I'll be following your advice and taking it to a performance shop. I'm still a little confused by what you guys mean by "fault codes". Should I be expecting a bunch of Check Control Messages to be popping up after installing this? Also, does anyone know if removing the control box and leaving the harness is an option (you know, for whenever service is due) or does the whole system need to come out?

They are found when the dealership plugs in a diagnostic tool. You would not know it, they would...If your car is running more boost, power and/or revs more than stock the diagnostic tool shows this as faults and then they would dig deeper as to why and probably know you had modified it and could void your entire warranty.

Hey now Hunter not all bought by business men and some of us do mod them as well . However you are correct way more M5 models sold plus lots of the cosmetics will fit a regular f10 as well like the trunk lid spoiler. A bigger market means more sales. Look at how many parts are out there for a Camaro or Mustang.

Just arrived this morning. I'm a little confused about one of the instructions in the PDF which mentions connecting the Control Box to a laptop and making some changes using a software and a provided cable, this didn't come with any such cable though. So either they forgot the cable, or this step is simply not required anymore. I guess I'll contact them to find out.

You need to purchase the program cable which is sold separately.
Without the cable you can not make the necessary change that is required for the M5/M6 models. This is the same harness used on the 550/650 engines. The change generates additional boost.

Thanks. I emailed Jon at BMS 2 days ago and ordered the cable. I'm going to wait until the cable arrives before I install the system.

Cool. Its very easy to do.
If you have issues connecting to the vehicle make sure you check your "USB Port" assignment. There is a help file once you install the software to your computer which describes it.
