Is anyone interested in coding the M6?

Some of us are interested in getting some leanings ahead of the M5 deliveries. Let me know if you are interested in coding.

Coding can include:
- auto fold mirrors
- auto unlock doors when engine switched off
- programming comfort access parameters like how windows and doors operate, ability to close roof from key fob
- ability to open power trunk from key fob or button inside car
- removal of electronic speed limiter
- ability to have fogs and high beams on at same time

And many other things.

If anyone wants help on these things, I will put you in touch with a forum member in your area with some coding experience.

You should do your own research and form your own opinion on this.

My understanding is that they cannot void the entire car warranty. However they can refuse a claim if they believe your modification caused the failure. So for instance if you have autofold setup on the mirrors, and the mirrors are frozen due to cold weather. They could argue the autofold broke the mirror gears due to the freezing conditions because you should not operate the mirrors in freezing conditions.

On the other hand, coding is so niche most dealers won't be aware that you coded these features. I have taken my car in once and pointed out the coded features to my service manager, and they still thought that the features must have come from the factory and just be a build variation.

Remember all the features enabled by coding already exist in the software, you just flick the switch.

That said, everyone should do their own research and do this at their own risk.

But I am happy to help out fellow forum members for free and teach people to code their own cars.
