We got the same email for our X7. But it's been down since.

Are you sure you lost connectivity? The BMWs that did were the ones that had 2G & 3G components. When you select BMW Online in iDrive…do you have the 3G icon in the upper left corner? If it doesn’t say 2G or 3G…you may have the 4G telematic components that still are active if you purchase a plan from BMW Connected.

Yup, mine was the 3g, I believe the 17s were still ok.

has anyone found a way to interface a 4G system to replace the 2G? I have not been able to find a schematic for the coms unit so far.
