BMW Connected App 'Locate Vehicle' now works

I never really used the Connected app because the one possibly useful feature, 'Locate Vehicle' only located your vehicle if it was with 1km of your present location for 'privacy reasons'. What nonsense. So it was pretty much useless.

Anyway, I recently acquired a new (to me) car, updated the Connected app and added my new car. Lo and behold, I can now locate my new car wherever it is and have been able to do so a several weeks. Is this now a feature everyone can use? Give it a go!

The technology was updated recently. My connected drive also works on my 2014 car. I cannot even pay for the feature to work on my 2012 car anymore. BMW is phasing it out on the older idrive systems

Anyways, if you log into your connected drive account, it tells you how many more years you have the feature until you either have to pay for it or until they stop supporting it.

For me, the most useful feature is to enter an address and directly send it into you navigation
